Can anyone provide information of CKR eng 351. Was this a former Rio Grande unit prior to repainting and renumbering by Omnitrax?
Also CKR 901. What is the histroy of this little guy that CKR also repainted and renumbered?
Shame we do not have a contact at K&O’s HQ, off of HARRY ST, here in Wichita? Or at WATCO’s HQ in Pittsburg(Ks.)… Quite possibly, some of these engines were ‘worked through’ WATCO’s Shops at some point ?
Building a roster of the KSW/CKR fleet, after additional units followed the originals onto the property, has proven to become a headache. My book basically cuts off on 7/1/01 and is not a history of Watco but of the past two fallen flag Wichita shortlines prior to the KO. Watco has been little help in this.
