Mr Cook. Saluda is an exceptional grade. At the time of the discontinuance of train service it was the steepest grade on a main line class I. Lac-Megantic is not on a serious grade (1% IIRC).
I read the closing did not settle because of the conflict over the town owned and leased track on the main line hook-up.
Why can’t Trains get this information from the courts?
Why not build automatic speed controlled safety ditch track on either side of town just like they used to use on Saluda Grade?
Not much is ever written about canadian rail…
must be boring for them to write…
Wish they would show all abandoned rail as it was and by date…
