Another one of the board denizens and I have been chatting offline about trying to arrange a group outing for those in (or willing to get to) the Central PA area.
Specifically, we wanted to throw out the idea of meeting in Strasburg, PA. Dates tossed around have been late May to early June…
As you likely know, Strasburg is a rail-rich area with the Strasburg excursion railway, Railroad Museum of PA, Model Railroad Museum, etc.
If interested, just post so here, and if there’s enough folks we’ll hash out the details.
Depending on when this happens, I’m in. I’m only 20 mins from there. The end of May/ begining of June are pretty busy for me though (vacations). So you’ll have to let me know when you decide.
There are also 2 other “excursion” railroads in the area. The West Chester railroad (90 min train ride) is about an hour East of Strasburg. The Middletown/Hummelstown RR (75 min train ride) is about an hour West of Strasburg. Just a thought if people wanted to do more riding than going to museums.

End of May/beginning of June seem to be tough for the couple folks I’ve talked to…
Then June 24th is “Day out with Thomas” at the Strasburg… Take your kids, by all means, but not a good day for a serious get-together…
So we should probably throw July into the mix too, like 15th onward – after the NMRA Philly convention winds down.
Yeah, STAY AWAY from the Thomas days. I don’t even go NEAR Strasburg on those days. They actually park people miles away and BUS them back to the train station. I’m sure it’s a cool fun thing (Strasburg actually built some of the Thomas engines), but since I don’t have kids myself, I tend to stay away those weekends.

I’m in, depending on what day we eventually pick. I’m about an hour and 15 minutes from Strasburg - been there a dozen times but it’s always fun.
