I am wanting opinions on the ease of assembly for the Central Valley and Campbell Scale Models truss bridges. Are there special tools needed to complete assembly? These kits seem to have such fragile looking parts that I feel a little daunted by them.
Anyone have any experience with either of these modes? I would even consider the Walthers single track truss (although I don’t like its look as well as these others). Generally, I would just like to hear what you think, good or bad.
Thanks.
I love Central Valley products, Although they look fragile they really aren’t, go together very well, take your time and use a good glue. Detail is nice and they are sturdy.
I have put together a couple of CV kits, including the Pratt truss bridge. I has a 21" span and less than 1/16th inch deflection at the center with my heaviest loco (P2K GP38-2). As Gappleg mentioned, get a good glue but take your time and make sure everythiong fits.
Good luck!

Thanks guys. If you don’t mind me asking what glue do you recommend? What do you use?
One of the things I like about the CV products is right on thier website they have a forum and a link for product support! Says a lot about a company if you ask me.
Again, thanks!
I use Testors Liquid cement in a black, odd shaped bottle. Others may prefer the type which is applied with a brush. Either will do a fine job.

As for glue I usually use Ambroid in the bottle.
