I guess maybe a book about shortlines. CF7s were originally created by the Santa Fe Railroad out of old F7 cab units to be made into yard switchers and for local freights.

Thank Gene Crossett for this list. It is at http://rosters.gcrossett.com/atsf/CF7dispos.htm

If you want to know about a Santa Fe subject, it is on http://www.qstation.org/

Does anybody actually make an HO model of a CF7, or is this a total kitbashing project?

jshrade,

Athearn currently has a very nice model of a CF7.

Dan

Theres also a FANTASTIC book out there on CF7’s and where they ended up, I believe the name is “CF7’s: From carleborne to everywhere”

“CF7’s: From carleborne to everywhere” I don’t know where carleborne is, but Cleburne is in TEXAS just south of Fort Worth.

I have one of the atearn CF7’S on my layout, actually pretty good for a RTR model.Runs smooth. Pull strength is moderate as a prototype would be , they weren’t to powerful anyway.

actually cleburne is south of dallas and ive seen the old cleburne shops there 1 time. over the years there have been numerous articles on kitbashing cF7s just do a search on the index of magazines, also there is another thread here about CF7s

Tom, you need to look at an atlas. Cleburne Texas is almost directly due South of Fort Worth. It is west of I-35W! [;)]
