Screen material for windows/doors. Then, you can use small wooden dowels painted silver for the posts.
Tried the Walthers kit. It was a pain so I tossed it out and am still looking for a good way to model chain link fence.
I prefer the fiberglass screen not the wire metal.

The chain link fence kit in the above photo can be found at: www.brennansmodelrr.com
Thank all of you for your ideas. It looks like we will try the wire mesh/ wood post first.

I have used a type of lace / vellum I found at a fabric store. It was already a grey-ish color, and it had more of a closer weave. Instead of wooden dowels, I used industrial sewing needles which were pretty long, a nice dull finish and easily punched into the old layout foam.
Try this. http://www.amaco.com/prod-wireform-metal-mesh-368.html
You should be able to purchase it from this we-site.

I’ve used the fiber mesh from Scenic Express. A light shot of flat gray paint gets things going. Then play with some rust…

Screen cut on the bias with brass or aluminum rod for the pipe.
If you’re looking to make a “scale” chain link fence then wooden dowels with wire mesh won’t do it.
