Check it out! Free intermodal containers

Jeffrey, Thanks alot. These are great. BTW my wife is diabetic. She has fround a lot of help using the “glycemic index.” It tells which foods are the most helpful or harmful. She was surprised to find some foodsshe thought to be ok, not so and vice versa. I think you can get more info with a “google” search.
Thanks again. Walter

Not to steal the thread, but there’s a wide variety also available from http://home.wanadoo.nl/schatborn/ as well as trailers and other odds & ends.

These are great for filling in low detail areas of a layout. Now does anyone have a website with printable rolling stock? I need longer trains…ha ha ha!
But seriously, if anyone has more links to sites like this, post them!

I made my own background containers be setting a stack of containers I already have on my scanner. I scaned individual containers placed so once printed they can be cut out and folded into 1 container and even a stack scanned as 1 bunch. By using 5 of 1 style of container placed properly on the scanner, you can get one picture. They will have a different number on each panel, but no one has noticed.

A definite home-run. Good Work J.W.

Don’t forget - even if your scale is not available, you can always enlarge or reduce to get the size you need.

Since these were designed to print on European A4 size paper when you print these make sure that in the print dialogue box the “page scaling” says “none” or your printer may reduce the actual printout to fit your printers margins or standard 8.5x11 American size paper and your containers will be smaller than they should be. I found out the hard way when some of my containers I had assembled were shorter than the plastic models. Also, my HP color inkjet needs a large margin on one edge so only one container was usable on each page. My b/w laser didn’t have this problem and both were usable but who wants b/w containers? Other color printers may not have this problem.

Somebody with B/W vision?

we have a winner

On the link listed there are squares with numbers. #23 - #27 are American truck trailers. In the blue text list at the, are links to excellent containers.

I downloaded a ton of 'em

Thanks for posting these. Then sending them to me.

My module group seemed excited.

One member says he has some buildings he can send me. Hmmm.

thats cool, but out of my era…:bulb: hehe

Thanks very much for the info on the containers. Went there and printed them right off and saved to favorites so as to go back again and do more if needed. I printed on white card stock and they look really good. I am building a wall unit railroad and want some containers for the trains and the yard where they will be shipped from. Look really good and nice and clean. Can not wait to get them together and use.
Thanks rails99@pacbell.net

SilverSpike, I don’t get the translate option when I try this. Do you have a special language plug-in?

Paul O

Yes, with XP and more recent versions of MS office there are options to install Language Tools. It may also be available for download from the Microsoft site as well, automatic update should have a selection for IE language code that can be installed. You may also be able to invoke a translation from a google search, there is a Language Tools button that can be utilized.

I used Corel Draw 8 made the paper 8.5"X11" put it as wide length so its 11"x8.5" moved the trailrs around and got both containers on it. Also works with adobe Illustrator. Thanks to ever one who sent these links.

You’re welcome.

RE: http://home.wanadoo.nl/schatborn/

Anybody know what era these truck trailers are from? I’m modeling the early 50s and these appear to be too modern for my layout but I’m not sure. They look really good.

Opinions?

some of mine

You’ve been busy, I see.
