I was reading a topic on here about free websites, and I tried one. Freewebs. I thought I would give it a try. I use it for my Ebay account and to show some of my weather jobs. It wasn’t to bad to make, but it still needs improvements. Let me know what you think.
Thats what I am trying to figure out. How to change the bubble picture. Looks kinda cheesy. As far as the weathering job… I use the oils, paints, etc. Mostly like ever other person does. I don’t use a airbrush but just for the dullcote. Takes alot of time to do a car, and working 3rd sometimes takes away from even thinking about a car. I am glad people lke the website, and I just need to figure out how to change certain things on it.
I know what you mean on the site look, My Website is a freebee and I’m stuck with pre-made templates, kinda hard to be individualistic when your stuck with their premade stuff . But what the heck it was free!
There is a way to work around the template issue with free web hosting sites. But you need to have access to upload your own files to your web site folder or hosting location on their web hosting server.
For example, my web site was originally a free Googlepages web site created with Google Page Creator and I found it limiting. I could not get some of the JavaScript to work so I moved it over to my other side business site.
Now here is the trick to modifying your own web development pages using your free web hosting online tools:
1: Creation
Create your web page as normal in your free hosting sites online tool.
2: Viewing online
View the web page online in your favorite Internet browser. (IE for me)
3: Saving as an HTML file
Save the file as an HTML file. Using the File menu, I used ‘Save As…’ to allow me to save the web page; I made sure that I changed the drop down menu in the ‘save’ dialogue to “Web Page, HTML Only” - if you fail to get this part correct then don’t come crying to me. [:O]
I chose to save my file as template.html instead of template.htm - this is because I hate .htm files, as it is more professional and modern to use .html - you can use .htm, I don’t care. I chose to save the file to a folder called ‘web design’ within “My Documents”, you can do what you like. [:I]
4: Editing the HTML file
Now that the template.html file is on my computer, I opened it with my fave free web page editor, which is
