It’s Amtrak in Toyota Tundra Paint, with a red Toyota Tundra pick-up on the side! Amtrak had a deal with Toyota to have two engines painted in this scheme. Amtrak #84 and Amtrak #115 were the two engines painted in this scheme! On the back of the engine, it has “The Powerful Toyota Tundra”. Here is a picture of one of the engines painted in this special Toyota Tundra paint scheme, Amtrak #84.
Any link opened with internet explorer nowadays does spyware. Railpictures just happens to be a real bad site. Switch to Firefox from www.mozilla.com Dont even need a popup blocker.
Not true. I guess your Web surfing habits are different. Few sites that I visit do so. I consider such a practice unethical and those that do I never visit again. Personally, if I gave such a link I would give a heads up in addition.
That’s for sure! I already use FF and having popup block on doesn’t prevent a determined Web programmer from displaying child windows.
Have you see the new “full size” Tundra? as far as I know it’s still smaller than the F150…
Anyways, The engine reminds me of some VIA engines I saw on some website. But those were even wierder. One Loco had Kool-Aid man on the nose [:0] Real nice pic though

Is Amtrak going the way of city buses to raise revenue for the railroad? At least they could have painted an American truck on the sides of these engines.
I don’t see anything wrong with being a little creative when trying to figure out a way to get some revenue. Now if it gets to where the engines look like a NASCAR on tracks, it’s gone too far; but one advertisement per loco? It seems to be a win-win to me for all sides involved.
I can’t say that I like this. I’ve seen this one other time as well.
If you’re gonna paint a truck on an Amtrak locomotive, why not use a real man’s truck-a Dodge Ram 1500 with a 5.7 liter HEMI. My Dodge Ram only wishes it had a HEMI in it…I do too.[8D]
