Chenille, bumpy or not

Have seen several articles using chenille to make conifer trees. Does anyone know where it can be purchased. Have tried the local craft shops, only thing they had was much too soft and my searches on the internet have ended up with curtins and other similar items… The company listed in one of my scenery books is long gone (so are the prices).

I know chenille trees look like bottle brush trees to some, but around here there are some pretty bottle brush looking trees growing in fields and peoples yards. A little scissor work and I hope to have a good crop of trees.

Thanks.

Hi, I hope this works. I’ve been lurking about for a long time - impressed with the good constructive answers that has been given - and impressed by the fabulous modelling that is shown.

Anyway, Cowman, I guess this link will help you: http://www.stainedglassoriginals.com/kidscraftsupplies_chenillestem.html

Kids stuff - well [:D] I noticed they are only 6 mm - I’ve seen them up to 15 mm in a danish webshop at this adress: http://www.creativcompany.dk/pages/group.asp?groupguid=11119&ref=google&key=23

In denmark they are also available where you buy your smokingpipe (luckily I don’t smoke [:)] ).

Good luck

Hi cowman,
I’ve had the same problem. Read about "bumpy chenille " in many magazine and “how to” books, but can’t find it anywhere.
Tried various craft stores etc, none to be had!
But when you read magazine articles or Kalmbach book articles, it’s like it can be found anywhere.
Okay Kalmbach and MRR magazine where did you guys find it???
