There is a great HB book on the C&W. It’s called “The Crooked & Weedy” by Charles Grattan Price, Jr. Published in 1991 by the Shenandoah Valley Chapter of the NRHS and reprinted in 1993.

There are two Cheseapeke and Western Baldwin Diesels at a scrap yard in Roanoke VA. They are with the three unpreserved N&W steam engines. Apparently the owner of the scrap yard they are in has died and they have been donated them the the Virginia Transportation Muesum. Here are some links.
