Chessie System Handrail Orange Color Help?

Hi everyone, I’m looking for a color that’s the same color as the Chessie System orange color to paint metal handrails from an Athearn SD40-2 model. I was looking at Scalecoat paints because they don’t need a primer and I could even get a paint pen since I don’t model the railroad anymore and I don’t need a ton of the paint. Could anybody help me find one that matches? I couldn’t find one. If necessary or easier, I could always just buy Polly Scale and put a primer on. Previously, I tried using Polly Scale SP Daylight Red at someone’s recommendation, but I didn’t like the color matching. If you can’t tell, I prefer the acrylic paints, and I also don’t have an airbrush, so I’ll either be brush painting or using the paint pen. Thanks!

Here’s a thread I found through google that discusses the chessie colors.

So many choices! Thanks for the find. I’m debating whether to give the SP Daylight Red another shot - I did try to paint it onto the blackish handrails without a primer, so it looked quite red. Do you think that a primer might get it to look more orange?

I’m far from being knowledgeable on paints, but I’m sure someone who is will chime in. It’s mid day and the forums are usually quiet until later.

When I cared enough to custom paint diesels, I remember using Testors competition orange for Chessie units. They were definitely orange, not red (despite what Proto 2000 put on their SD50s).
