Cheyenne Night Shots...

So I’m out chasing storms Friday night. I’m running along the Greeley Sub on US 85 through Colorado. Of course the storm I picked to chase built up, pretty quickly, but in the end, didn’t amount to too much (If I had picked the other further NE storm, I would be showing you all some tornado pics…but that’s another story).

The storm I was chasing didn’t start dying until I was well past Greeley, so what on earth should I do? Drive onto Cheyenne of course! While I didn’t see the 844, I did get a few cool night shots.

As always, expand the pictures for the best viewing experience!

From the early afternoon, when the storm was still dropping some decent hail. Is this the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow?

The renovated Cheyenne Depot:

A very small part of teh very large Cheyenne yard:

And I think this is a pair of brand spanking new 70Ace’s (Correct me if I’m wrong):

While I would have liked to have some cool storm pics, I think these were a pretty decent substitute. If nothing else, I scouted out a couple places for the Frontier Days Train!

Happy Rails to you all!

Hey Chris great shots. I dig the pot of gold one. I do a lot of night photography myself and I’d say these are all good shots.

Chris,Thanks for the great photos ! What kind of camera do you have?

Nice work there. Great photo of the depot from the overpass.
