Chicago is My Kind of Town 2000

This is one of those shots I’d always wanted to get, and finally had the chance to visit in 2000 - Amtrak 18th Street Shops in Chicago, with the mighty skyline in the background.

Thanks for looking and corrections are welcome.

Great shot! I’ve been at that spot many times and have been chased away once or twice but not normally. Thanks for sharing your shot with us.

Hey thanks, Jim… Yeah… I know, it’s one of those familiar spots to Chicagoland folk… but to me it was like seeing a National Park or a great cathedral for this first time. Hard to believe it’s real. Sort of like a model railroad exhibition come to life.

Very nice! I would vote for it…

Wow…that kind of makes me feel bad that I’ve never been there despite the fact that I was born and raised in Chicagoland.

Great shot, though! It was nice to see some F40’s mixed in there, too. I miss seeing them on the point of Amtrak’s trains. Thankfully, the Ski Train has started its summer schedule, so I can see three of them on the point of it!

Thanks for sharing!

Another great Freericks photograph! This one really gives the viewer the impression that they’re right there with you at that moment in time. Really well done and spectacular.
