#261 was a Northern. Like the Hudson design for passenger service, the Northern seems to have been the epitome of Steam for freight service from a practical point of view: i.e. many units in actual service proving the point. On the Milwaukee’s Idaho Division, there was one, and she was so special to the crews she had her own name: “Orphan Annie”, a sister to #261. Quite a machine. What are the reasons for that?
I have just finished a photo Gallery of the (September 16) Saturday Triple Headed Steam Excursion from Rock Island to Bureau Illinois. The gallery has about 40 pictures in order from Rock Island to Bureau and back to Tiskilwa Illinois.
Here are a few shots

Snickers I think I know the big guy with the tats and yes he would have. But thats cool you all stood togther and said hey we were here respect the line. I think thats the best way to bring everyone out of being labeled as a drooling foamer. Be nice respect and help others out.
Now just dont ask me to sing Kumbyay (spelling as I am not a touchy feely kind of guy) but I will always answer a railfans question ( well not much anymore as I work thirds and not many take pics then) before I will answer the clown who just came rushing up ran over the no trespassing sign and is procceding to film my train from right next to the tracks with his face looking like he just got a date with Holly Klum!
