My Wife gave me my Christmas present a little early this year. She gave me a new 10" table saw and lumber so I could start the benchwork for my layout. I got a good start today, still got more to do…lol.
here is the overall benchwork diagram.
here’s a couple shots of my benchwork so far. It will be around the walls layout. 18 inches deep except the closet area is 24 inches deep. it will also have a 43 in wide by 79" wide penisula. there is 24 inch walkways around the layout with a lift out at the entrance.
the track plan is going to be very simple since this is my first layout. It will simply be 2 independant lines with a cross over, a few industrial spures, and a coal mine. It will be mostly for watching trains, but will have a few operational aspects as well.
Santa bestowed an early one on me, the day after TG. I got a new Task Force as well, with extended table, sawdust collecter, and folding with wheels. ( from where I can store it to where I can use it as of now does require a little juant). And all at an unbeliveable price![;)]
I only have a small N layout (space restrictions) but I plan to make new kitchen cabinets, made by my own two hands![angel]
Nice saw! I’ve got one, and when I use it, it coats my layout with dust
I built mine into a 4 foot wide by 4 foot long bench on wheels which is the same height as my workbench. That way, I can use the workbench as an extended outfeed table. My trains wish I had built it in the garage instead of the cellar. I don’t think it will fit out the hatchway at this point. I guess I need a good dust collection system.
