Circuitron DT-4 Question

Hi, I’m going to be using a Circuitron DT-4 to detect trains on a hidden track. There is about 8 feet between the track and my Control Panel. My question is: WHERE should I locate the circuit board? Which is better - to have the long wire run from the sensors to the inputs of the board or from the outputs of the board to my Control Panel where the power supply and Indicator lights are? Thanks for any insight. George

with only 8 feet separating them it probably doesn’t matter where you put it .

since the DT-4 uses optical sensing rather than current sensing the length of the wire between the sensor and the board shouldn’t matter . figure out how many wires have to run from the sensors to the board , an how many from the board to the control panel . place the board closest to whichever needs the most wires .

or just put it wherever you like [:)]

Thanks. I was pretty sure it wouldn’t matter. But it doesn’t hurt to check with others. Save me rewiring it. George
