Circus Train for a big Feature Film

Here are four shots from the neat little Mikes time in Fillmore this past Saturday. Have to say, having never seen this engine before, it is one sweet locomotive. I fell in love at first sight. It was in SoCal for a 20th Century feature film shoot.

Posting the pics in reverse (to be contrarian - if that really is a word)

First image is the closest I got to sweet light, long after all the other railfans departed, the Mike switches three “Benzini Brothers Circus” box cars for the film “Water for Elephants.”

Second image is of the switching of the Benzini Brothers cars (there’s an ex CNW F7 pushing that open vestibule car).

Third is a pic of the Mike crawling onto the turntable near the SP depot.

And final shot is my attempt to be artistic… a teenage couple in love takes a break from their swim to watch the Baldwin back over the Sespe Creek.

Thanks for looking… and corrections are always welcome.
