I have looked a lot of places, and I can not find detailed city (Eugene, Oregon) railroad maps. In fact, I can’t even find any railroad maps. I can only find road maps which lack considerable detail when it comes to the railroads.
One place you might want to try online is Microsoft TerraServer webpage. It allows you to search for aerial photos of almost anywhere in the United States, but is also allows you to view topographical maps which almost always show rail lines.
If you are looking to purchase something Delorme Atlas’s which I believe are available for every state are quite detailed and show railroads. Or a Street Atlas CD is available from Delorme with maps of the entire US where it can be zoomed in to see more or less detail.
You can also go to Map Quest’s web site to down load city maps, however, you have to zoom in to get any detail such as railroads. The zoomed in portion only covers a small area.
Inaccuracy is a problem on more than just railroad name. Several paper maps available for the Chicago area will often continue to show railroads that were abandoned a long time ago.
Hello- I’ve had sucess in finding railroad maps both old & new at loc.gov . This is the libary of congress go into maps & then railroads ; locations are by states & also, dates . Good hunting ! ! - Phil[8D]
