Many railfans enjoy shortline railroads, I’m no exception. A friend of mine has created a couple of excellent web sites that document some of these shortlines out west. I think some on this list may enjoy visiting Jeff’s web pages. The following is from Jeff:

Thanks for the info. I hope that Jeff is able to cover the various timber roads out of Bend. Some were really interesting.

Yes, he is planning on doing both Shevlin-Hixon Lumber Company and Brooks-Scanlon Lumber Company.

As you can see, he is doing a top notch job.

I remember traversing the East Side of Santiam Pass and seeing the Brooks log trains up toward Metolius. When I was last over that hill, the aproaches were still there for the US 20 overpass.

It will be interesting to see what he puts on the sight! Thanks again for alerting us.
