Classic Metal Works Ford Woodie's are finally available!!

I’ve been waiting for these little gems for a long time. I recieved mine a couple of days ago and they are very nice. Unlike other CMW offerings in the past, these have plastic bodies. I picked up the mist green and maroon colors(for now). Now cant wait for the 1941-46 Chevrolet trucks!! I sent CMW an email suggesting a 1941-46 Chevrolet school bus and they said they would pass it along to their product development dept. I sent them a picture of the 46 Chevy schoolbus in the movie Forrest Gump, so they could see how cool it would look. They are already going to offer a heavy duty 41-46 chevy, so making a school bus from this shouldnt be too hard. I also told them about how theres a gap between the Jordan 1934 bus and the 1970’s schoolbus model now available. We need a transititional era school bus!! Go to google image search and take a look at a 1946 Chevy school bus and email CMW and tell them you like the idea(if you do)

Santa Fe,

I am very much looking forward to those '41-'46 Chevy Trucks myself. [8D][Y]

When I first got into MRRing about 7 years ago, there was a dearth of available vehicles in the '30s to’mid-40s range. Thanks to Sylvan, Rikko, Athearn, and Classic Metal Works, there’s a nice inventory of cars AND trucks to choose from now.

When I checked Walthers yesterday, only the HO scale ones are out; the N scale ones had no delivery date.

I’m more interested in the 1950 Ford Fordor which was supposed to be released by Atlas, but now will be released by River Point Station - to me those were the nicest looking of the post WWII US automobile models, because they have a clean, slab-sided look. From images of the period, anyone modeling the US in the early thru mid-50s will need several of these on their layout. I will just get one, as a little while back I realized automobiles from the 1920s thru the 1960s are rather rare in 21st century US (admittedly there’s a decent number of late 60s/early 70s muscle cars tucked away in driveways and garages around the country), so these go into a display case.
(Vehicles from the late 1970s thru today are layout usable in my case).

Hmm, River Point is also releasing Dodge Challengers, Dodge Journeys, and Dodge 1500s…but can’t release Chrysler Airflow Imperial Eight, Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, and 1968 Plymouth Fury I models because of Chrysler Licensing issues? Didn’t they get a manufacturer wide license?

Thanks Chutton, now I have more to put on the “to get” list. Yes, I think the 50 Fords would be a great car to add to the fleet.

Come on folks, anyone have any interest in Classic Metal Works making a 1941-46 Chevy School Bus? Opinions please.

Not personally, as it wouldn’t fit my layout. But…I’m all for seeing more models come out.
