Cleaning Brass

What is a good way to clean Painted Brass? Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

Very carefully. If you dislodge anything, the proper way to re-attach it is with a resistance soldering unit, which will mean at the minimum touch-up paint, and more likely completely stripping and repainting. Many use a bit of CA instead, but…

70% Isopropyl Alcohol thinned 1 part to 3 part distilled water applied with a very soft brush will proably be okay, test a hidden area first.

Windex “streak free” formula will also work.

However, be careful as alcohol and amonia can fade paint over time if used often.[;)]

I haven’t had any problems with two soft brushes and a bowl of warm soapy (I like Dawn) water, a LOT more water than soap, and another bowl of clear water, and some paper towels. Take soapy brush, blot off excess, and gently scrub an area. Then take brush damp with clear water and mop up the soapy residue, may take a couple of “rinses”. Final dry is a hair dryer far enough away that all the model sees is a warm, NOT hot, breeze. Never had anything hurt with this method.
