I am trying to resurect some of my son’s old locos for my grandsons. Some of these have current pickups in the form of brass, or bronze, strips which contact the back side of the metal wheels. Does anyone have an easy method for cleaning these contacts short of complete disassembly?
Sometimes you can clean them with alcohol and a Q-tip.
I’ve used spray contact cleaner made for electronic components - tuners etc. My [2c]
