Hi i am looking for what issues that contain a step by step layout design for a layout in N called Clinchfield. I believe it was published about 6 or 7 yrs ago. The layout is 13ft by 7 ft. It had a coal mine and power station as the main points of interest in it.
Thanks from downunder
Tony
lo lo tony… you are a lot further down under than me…say hello to a banana benda…
the clinchfield series ran from nov 1978 to july 79 eight articles in total plus a look back in april 1999…you should check out the photos…lots of paisley and sideburns… another good n gauge layout was the burlington northern layout from 1990…thanks peter ps if interested i will be selling lots of n gauge stuff on ebay soon
Hi Tony,
Peter is right about the dates. That series of articles was also collected in a book, “Modeling the Clinchfield Railroad in N scale,” by Gordon Odegard, published in 1979, with a second printing in 1990. The book is out of print now, but you might be able to find a copy on the Net or at a model railroad show. Or you can order photocopies of the original articles from customerservice@kalmbach.com.
So long,
Andy
Thanks for your help. I looked through my collection of Modell RR and found the April 99 issue and also the June 79 issue. It at least gives me an idea. I am about to purchase a layout that was built from those plans. It is at the scenery stage with just the track laid and the wiring done.
cheers from downunder

Sounds like fun, UPtazz. Good luck with your purchase and post up some photos!! Welcome to the forum, as well.
Why not buy the complete book? The articles were published in complete form and we have about 2 dozen copies left.
