Mr. Thoms, I believe these 'Internal Short Lines" maybe the Cran, Matagami, Chapais, St. Maurice, Tascereau, la Tuque, Lac St-Jean and Val d’Or subdivisions (ref: Canadian Trackside Guide).

The internal shortline indeed runs North from Garneau, through Hervey Jct, toward Chambord, Saguenay (Arvida), Dolbeau, Chibougamau, Chapais, La Tuque, Senneterre, La Sarre, Matagami, Val d’Or and Rouyn-Noranda. Handling mostly aluminium, forest products and mining-related stuff (ore concentrate, sulfuric acid).
