Witness this freshly painted zebra-striped unit:
I sure hope not. The zebra striping looked good on the covered wagons pulling passenger trains…not so good on hood units…Plain black with red front and rear looks the best…lose the ugly white strip.
For some reason CN has gone to a smaller CN logo on rolling stock. The big CN looked much better…the smaller version looks as if someone is trying to save a few cents on paint.
BTW the KCS seems to be moving away from grey stripes on the front of the engine.
It is a restoration to the original scheme.
Just recently Mike’s Train House announced that an O Scale model of a CN GP38-2 in Zebra Stripes will be produced. The repaint might be advertising for that model.

I submit the lead unit looks a heck of a lot better than the trailing unit!
oh goodness! THAT will be nice to see if they do!
That would be cool if they did . I like those zebra stripes .
I would be nice to see them go back to them at least on the older locomotives thh GP9’s 8’s 40’s etc. I’m not sure if the newer GE’s and EMD’s would look as good in “Zebras” though. Heck I’d love to see the Olive Green and Yellow come back , now that would be a pipe dream !

It would add a little color!!
