Good day!
Very new to the hobby…as in only a few days.
Looking to model CN.
Has anyone converted a GP9 to the chop nose version GP9-RM?
Haven’t bought any units as of yet, CN GP38-2 on order.
Anyone have any contacts for converting units and rolling stock?
Everything will be pretty well off the shelf. Looking to get a few units with the stripes as I see there is pretty well all paint schemes less the CN stripes.
Any word if the rumoured GP40 wide nose will be produced?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Andrew
hello, I’m a CN modeller, GP38-2’s and GP-9RM’s are my specialties. the GP-9RM can be built by using a life-like Proto 2000 GP7-18 chassis and a shell from Kaslo shops, it’s a huge job although you can buy one that is completed for more. the GP38-2 can be built using Athearn, Proto 2000 or whoever else makes them, personally I like the Athearns they’re easier to work with, I completed one and I’m working on another if you’d like I can send you a list of parts needed and provide any info you need. Kaslo is cooking up a GP40-2LW shell aswell but I just took an athearn and slaped a wide cab on it, along with many other parts in the works (be sure that if you get one that is has the chicken wire grilles) it’ll save you some time
Wrong scale there, GP9RM. You’re talking HO while while red dog six is talking large scale 1:29. I do not see much in the way of USA diesel bashes on line but I know there are guys who do them.
