I am very happy to say that CN is actually doing a good job trying to find more customers unlike before. Through Trillium Railways, CN has been asking Moore McCleary which usually gets a few cars, if it wants to increase rail use.
CN sent them 3 cars for coke and one of the cars had a hole in it. They sent them a new car the same day. Funny enough they sent the 1 hopper on 332 (unit autorack train).
Point is, I am glad that CN has started to improve its customer relations with Niagara anyways (I don’t know off hand of any other locations which CN has improved service)
Has anybody else noticed any service improvements with CN?
I can’t site specific good customer service (other than my own experiences when I was agent for the Decatur Junction Railway in Illinois) but it seems that CN (and IC before it) doesn’t mind the small customers. A small, wooden elevator at Chestervale, Illinois on the Peoria Sub still ships one to three covered hoppers of corn on a regular basis. Perhaps it’s just the fact that this customer is on a secondary mainline but CN seems to go after business - large or small.
I haven’t noticed any real service improvements here in Wisconsin on the ole WC. I have noticed however some track improvements. In Neenah, WI, they are putting all new signals in including a cantaliever signal bridge on the south end. As far as I know, its the only one in Wisconsin on the CN! There might be another one, but I can’t remember if that was on CN.
