Will NOT let BAB get even close to it . Had a conversation w/Mr. D. (the CN loco guy) and they do know the 6071’s historical value and when the time comes retire it a good home is of the highest priority . The first time I saw the GM&O 950 was up in Meridian,Ms , had to be 1975 or 76 , and it made a great impression on me . It may have looked as good or maybe a little better than the “Tuxedo” engines I was runnin’ . DPH
Then there is a chance of it going to IRM. That would be a great home for it, considering it has old IC coaches. As long as it gets saved, that would be great! It was on display at Homewood Rail Heritage Day 2006 (by request of the village of Homewood since they also know its historical status) and it looked great!
Have you ever “had” a locomotive. Different than sex, that’s for sure, but it has it’s moments.
