I was wondering what would be a good color match for the red orange color on the engine?
Thank you

Floquil has CN Orange.

Testors Model Master Chevrolet Engine Red is a better match for this colour. It’s available in regular enamel and in acrylic.
I think Floquil’s CN Orange is the same colour as Accupaint CN Red-Orange. That colour is suitable for the 1964 "Big Noodle"and safety stripe schemes, and early applications of the 1974 high-angle safety stripes. After the mid-eighties most shops started applying a colour that was more red, which became the norm for the 1992 “North America” scheme seen in the photo and later schemes.
Here’s a model done with the Testors colour:
I use Chevy Engine Red and add a couple of drops of reefer white to lighten it up just a hair.

Ahh, you Maritimers think you know everything! [:D]
There’s also Floquil’s Amtrak Red.

Dont we know everything LOL
I oughta, after twenty-odd years of painting CN engines…[:o)]
Aren’t you 'cross da Bay bye? I just find the CN Orange toooo orange for the modern engines. Works well for the faded GP38-2s but stick that colour on a Dash 9 or SD70/75 and it looks waaaaaaay wrong.
