I grew up near the last of the Bessemer ABA F units. I always enjoyed their unique units, in the butler area.
As a former Erie PA resident I’m glad to see this unit around Chicago. Hope I can catch it!
Great to see CN not scrapping it
I too grew up in Butler, Pa and was pleasantly surprised to see a CN loco leading a south bound there last week on the B&LE, while on a visit.
lived in East Brady, PA area where the WARR was purchased by the B&LE. before it’s sale there were ABA F units hauling coal out of Bradys Bend/Kaylor area. i believe in the 70’s and 80’s
I grew up on the B&LE tracks to Mercer and the big fill out of Grove City. I am very glad to see any thing left. Thanks TRAINS, an the commenters.

CN certainly had a change of attitude in the past few years.
CN scrapped hundreds of locomotives in the last EHH years (IC SD40-2’s come to mind), which caused a severe locomotive shortage when traffic picked up again. Good to see that old worn-out units are called back on the road to keep things moving.
Now, about that lack of four-axles power…
