CN slow orders delay Agawa Canyon Tour Train; ‘Algoma Spirit’ runs with bus

Just contacted the Algoma Central ticketing offices, as we already have prepaid reservations for the ‘combo ticket’ in a few weeks. The representative told me that part of the issue is one or both of the locomotives aren’t operating for the tour train.

Early on, i had problems with the reservations themselves. As I understand it, the tour train and the passenger train have been split into separate operating entities, and as a result I was told that the combo package had been discontinued, and that I could either purchase tickets for the tour or the passenger train. However, after my reservations were confirmed I discovered I was charged for the combo package anyway.

Compound this with the slow orders on the Algoma Spirit, and unfortunately my confidence of getting to really take the Tour of The Line aren’t looking good. Riding the bus as a substitute just doesn’t cut it, but I’m holding out for conditions to improve in the weeks to come…

Interesting how CN has instituted a blanket policy that I don’t recall hearing about when Algoma Central was independent…and really, 25C, that isn’t really hot at all, they could probably get away with 30C and still not have any issues with heat kinks.
