My loving wife got me a Rapido CNR Buffet Parlour Car (Bras D’Or Lakes) for Christmas. Unfortunately I already had that particular one and my LHS only had Club cars left, which I have one of already. My question is: Could a CNR passenger train @ 1950-60 have of two club cars within the consist?

Party train? Absolutely! Sign me up. David B
David B hit the nail on the head… Party Train!
And it really happened (with TWO lounge cars, to boot. It was 1970 though.
(I tried to copy-paste from Wikipedia but the new software here can not understand how to do this. It actually freezes the page!!!)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Festival_Express Take a look at the second paragraph for a consist.
I can copy-paste the link but NOT any of the text. Watch the film if you can. This move probably gave every CN S&D manager ulcers!
GM ran quite a few special trains out of Detroit for executives in the late '60s and '70s Mostly B&O/C&O equipment but there was some borrowed CN stuff in there, too. Political campaigns are another cause to have specials with extra dining and lounge cars.
It’s your railroad, you can certainly come up with reasons to have that extra lounge car (could even be a “deadhead” move to one of the car shops.)
Have fun, ED
Thank You Gents! Both answers are inspirational and it looks like I will definately aquire a second Club Car. This wil make an 10 car consist!
