Coal Belt

I just got my announcement of the latest of Allen Keller’s Great Model Railroad video series. In it he lists a “fallen flags” video which has highlights of layouts that he has previously done, but are no longer with us. These include the Alleghany Midland, the old Virginia and Ohio and (to my surprise) the Coal Belt RR of Bill Henderson.

I knew about the others, but was surprised to hear that the Coal Belt is no more.

Anybody know what happened to it or what Bill Henderson is up to these days?

George;

IIRC last I heard from the Florence, Al. group was Bill has gone to On30. I do know that it is a larger scale. At that time he was still in the benchwork stage. I will check with a friend up there and see exactly what he’s doing.

Thanks.

Was just curious really. The Coal Belt was one of my favorite layouts. I loved the gritty feel of it and his camelback locos.

I always loved seeing pics of the Coal Belt. Bill is quite the modeler, but what impressed me was the combination of his modeling and his photography skills. His pics simply looked real. I can’t wait to see what he can accomplish in On3!
