I want to add a western style flood loader to my coal mine operations. I have some room on the mine entry lead tracks. The problem is the Walthers kit is not available anymore, and I can’t even find any on ebay. Well, I just happen to have an un-built kit for my Ethanol Plant. The corn storage silos. So I decided to use one of the silos from it. I’ll get another one of those kits, as they are still available.

The conveyor will simulate going underground from the mine to the flood loader. They still have the modern conveyor kit available though.

The prototype for this is the Empire Mine in Colorado.

It’s not quite huge enough, but plenty big enough for the available space . It certainly has the gravitas it needs. The flood loader kit says the diameter is just over 7", so it may even be the same silo casting??
