Just to let the Ontario dudes know, there is a train show at the Lions Center today in Cobourg. Its usually not a bad show, lots of layouts and vendors. It runs from 10AM-4PM today ONLY. I’m heading there now so I can hopefully score some ONR stuff before the big crowds hit. [:p]
ancaster is the premier show in ontario…
have fo fun trying to find ONR stuff, i can’t keep it on the shelves long enough
later
When is the Ancaster show?
The Ancaster show is usually in November. I wouldn’t say its the premier show in Ontario but its not bad.
Dave, any luck at the show yesterday?
I wanted to go but both my kids have colds & I didn’t want to go without them.
Weekends are pretty much the only time I get with them these days
BTW, have you ever asked Bob to stock some more O.N.Rail stuff?
Gordon
I scored a Athearn Genesis ONR box car that I already have, I’m going to change the number on it. I also got a nice looking t-shirt and a hot rod car kit to build. There was tons of the new Intermountain ONR cars there but I already got them from George’s a few months ago. Bob got me the ONR SD75I’s, he is good at keeping me up to date on any new ONR stuff thats coming out and puts anything new aside for me.
I was carrying ONR, there for a while. Its too hard to keep in stock.
And plus, its made by Hobbycraft, which I have conflicting views about them.
Ancaster is a good show. Lakeshore use to be good, I dont know anymore.
There seems to be no deals at shows anymore, unlike the old days.
I agree with that…it’s getting harder to find the gems these days
speaking of lakeshore … when is that show ? and is it going to be out at humber again ?
april 2nd is lakeshore
then woodstock april 23
later
Its funny that ONR stuff is so popular but its usually produced in limited runs. Canadian Model Trains, probably made by Hobbycraft, did a run of drop end gondolas that are incredible looking but they only did 50 of each road number. Same thing for the Athearn Genesis SD75I’s, only 150 of each road number was produced. I have conflicting views of Hobbycraft as well. They do make some nice stuff but they got the blue on the old GP9’s wrong.
