scookam,
I’m guessing that you updated to IE9 recently? What you’ll need to do is to click on the broken icon that, I think, is to the right of your URL box, up at the top of your browser. The forum doesn’t currently support IE9 and this will take your browser back to an earlier update so that your posts will show up again.
Or…you could download Mozilla Firefox 4. I find it much speedier than and preferable to IE. However, I do have both browsers installed on my computer for the times where a site loads more fully on IE and doesn’t on Firefox.

Look to the right of your address bar. There’s a blue icon there that looks a torn piece of paper. Click it and all will be well. It will set your IE9 browser into IE8 emulation mode and it will then work on this forum.
Or, use CHROME and skip all the fooling around. This forum is not the only thing IE9 doesn’t like.
So far Chrome as been problem free for me.

Thank you. I have no idea what IE9 is but it worked like a charm. It was driving me mad.
And this was the reason I wanted to post. Since I don’t know what IE9 is on my pc, I feel n gauge code 55 may be a bit more intensive than my patients could handle. I love the look of the code 55 and really want to use it on my new project, my 4th, but all I hear about are the headaches with running on it.
Any advice would be solid gold to me. And thanks again.

Scookam,
IE = Internet Explorer - i.e. your web browser. Version 9 isn’t currently compatible with this forum so the aforementioned fix emulates IE8 so that your posts will be visible.
Even if you mainly use a particular browser while viewing the web, it’s always a good idea to have another one (Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, etc.) because some web pages work better with some browsers than they do with others.
Anyhow - with that said - I’ll let others elaborate on the N-scale track part of things…

If you don’t take your time installing track it doesn’t matter what you use you will have problems. I would think if a person doesn’t have the ‘patience’ to make sure his track of choice is properly laid down, and for that matter check to see if rolling stock runs good on it before going even further with the layout, they may need to look at a different hobby. Model railroading is more of a model building hobby, not so much buying something in a box and plunking it down.
IE would be Internet Explorer. IE9 would be the latest version. I also have the latest version of Firefox, haven’t looked back.
Thanks for the advice, pal.
