i have a # 505 code 83 #6 left turnout and a #584 code 83 switch machine . Are these the correct ones too go together? If so how do i get the machine on the turnout without forcing or braking the machine?
There are a lot better quality switch machines on the market but like a lot of us, we started out with atlas turnouts and switch machines.
Slide the switch machine throw bar into the tie throw bar slot. ( It will fit in at a 90 º angle where the switch machine arm meets the tie bar.
Now, carefully snap the switch machine into place where the two tabs meet the specially molded track ties. It’s really quite simple. Some of the older Atlas switch machines had to be screwed into place but now they just snap into place. The switch machine will run parrallel with the outside (straight ) rail with the switch machine arm pointing in the same direction and also parrallel with the point rails… chuck
