About a month ago, I went to Cody’s Office, only to find that it has a lock on it, only to have it automatically go to the “Trains.com” page. I opened a thread to find out what was going on. Rene Schweitzer commented, “Thank you for posting this question. Cody’s Office IS still a subscriber benefit. Some of the videos are not marked correctly. We are working on this right now and it should be fixed by the end of the day.” I have a subscription to Model Railroader and have been for years. When I checked again this morning, and any attempt to go to Cody’s Office still shows it with a lock on it and redirects me to Trains.com. Is anyone else having this problem?
I even sent an email to Customer Service, but, have yet to receive any reply.
I didn’t realize that and when a looked at the site today, there was a review and 2 introductory posts by D Popp in the first 3 pages of videos. Everything else showed the lock icon.
I worked for a major airline for 35 years and they had the worst IT folks or processes I’d ever experienced UNTIL I discovered MR! I have had so much trouble over the years getting things to work and getting stupid or no responses. Pretty disappointing to me.
Unfortunately if you’re ‘just’ a subscriber and not an MRVP member, Cody’s Office episodes and MR video reviews are not available - at least the last couple of each haven’t been.
When I called to see how long I had for my MRVP subscription, MRVP told me I canceled it in 2019. You would think I would remember that. [%-)]
I immediately lost access to all those videos.
Today https://mrv.trains.com I can watch every video I tried, including the series videos. However other than Cody’s office a review or two and a layout tour, there is nothing there newer than May.
Just to clarify my earlier post, when I said “subscriber” I meant subscriber to the magazine, not MRVP. Up until a month or two ago, I could access Cody’s Office episodes, video reviews, etc. but can’t now since I’m not an MRVP member/subscriber, only an MR subscriber.
And I am saying I am an MR subscriber and not an MRVP subscriber; and I can see every MRVP video I tired.
Now we are still on the premature-Beta version of trains.com and my access might end tomorrow, or in a month or a year. I do not expect it to last so I’m going to look at some of the layout series again.
I am a magazine subscriber only and I am not doing the Trains.com trial and I am able to view Cody’s Office and look at and download the latest MR from the archives.
