Cody’s Workshop: Episode 19 - Model a modern crossbuck sign
Cody, did you decide to “bale” out of the controversy on your hay field?
Good segment Cody. I was most impressed by the hay field that you modeled as being contour cut to reduce erosion. What is with the band aid on the left index finger? Cut or burn?
Oops, one more comment. To avoid the red end on the wood strip, start cutting on the other end, then the red end is on the scrap piece…
Cody–thanks for the tip on the Faller hay stacks. Those look good but my grandad’s were 10-12 ft tall whereas those are about 6-7 ft so I think I’ll just carve some out of foamboard scraps and glue on the “hay”. Keep up the good work–Larry
Hi Cody, just wondering what’s with the locomotives displayed behind you in the workshop episodes? Are they waiting to be reviewed, pictured, or just for the atmosphere? I’ve noticed they’re almost always HO scale (except that big green engine in the back). Just being curious
Thank you
Great improvement to the two out of the package products…
Thnx
Cody, I noticed that on the official instructions for building the crossbuck that the 9 feet to the center of the crossbuck is measured from the height of the roadway pavement, not the ground level which could be several feet lower than the pavement. That nine feet is critical so that motorists and truck drivers will be able to see that sign above roadway weeds and uncut shrubbery.
Hi Cody, I have two questions for you. 1st, I am adding 2 new industries to my fictional, modern era mountain valley railroad, and I would like to know if there is some good books describing different rail served factories and how they were served and what type of cars they received. 2nd, I would like to know what all team tracks were used for.
Thanks for the lead on the MUTCD site. Lots of sign ideas and loadable art. Also road sign info and layout dimensions.
