Yes I would never even begin to think that was a 12 second car. Big exhaust, big tires and real healthy sound gives it away sometimes. Must be over two tons.
Sunny and 74 Cheapest gas is $3.69. The Pot has two and a half pages since yesterday morning.
I go to a big church Sat eve and a small church Sun morn. The big church is having a revival Sat through Wed. Last night I arrived 25 minutes early and barely got a seat in the santuary. It was jam packed. They have overflow in the gym and many chairs and a screen in the patio area in the front. This church is so big they have proffesional singers as members and the music is so good I still feel uplifted. I’m going again tonight a little earlier.
Chief Wells Fargo gave me detailed instructions to wire money for my final mortgage payment. Their so concerned about gettin the last 25 cents a day intrest that they spend $50 or $100. for paperwork and pay to people. I had to open a Wells Fargo checking account in order to wire the money and then cancel it a couple of weeks later.
We have police chases all the time here on TV Just saw the end of one where the guy stopped and was all boxed in with police cars. He gets out and takes off running with about 20 cops after him. He only made it about 1/2 a block.
Chuck Keep up the exercise, please leave the snohio cannon alone for a few more weeks
RI Jack John Deere is a good machine.you should look into one. Or better yet a Gravely. Our 1974 is still going strong. Pushing 3000 hours on the hour meter we added at the first engine rebuild in the early 80’s. It cuts grass, cuts wood(connected to a 36" buzz saw) tills the garden, plows snow, blows snow, moves hay wagons and runs a 4500 watt alternator when needed. They quit building garden tractors and were bought out by Ariens a few years ago. Now they aim at the commercial market.

Nothing runs like a DEERE
Son started picking corn yesterday. Even with 4WD tractor could not load wagon full because of wet conditions. He told me this AM that there were deer in the field he picked looking confused as he put the wagon in the shed.
Doug, congratulations to your son for being accepted into his favorite college. Sounds like it’s getting colder now in Chi town. We have to change planes there on 11-5 but won’t have to go outside the terminal. I went through there once in December in the 60’s with snow on the ground. Workers on the tarmac looked like Eskimos.
D.Baker, sounds like more fun than a barrel of monkeys at Knotts. Listening to all those maladays from your co workers sounds painful. Good news about rent at your club. Is that $135 total or $135 for each member. It can’t be the latter. That would be a disaster.
Chief, good program for helping the kids with food needs on weekends. Hope they have some discreet way of giving it to them. Might be embarrasing for some of them if they get comments from other kids. Kids can be cruel sometimes. Show us a video of your drunk impression. Remember Foster Brooks on TV. Wonder what ever happened to him? Probably dead by now. Thanks for the heads up on Wells Fargo. Don’t do any business with them currently.
Nice weather predicted with warm days and cool nights this week. Noticed first snohio in the country fell on the Rockies yesterday. Denver got some.
Next door neighbor all decorated up for Halloween with ghost and skeletons on and around house. Looks like one spook that flies overhead on a wire. The wife over there is good at things like that for kids. She teaches musical theatre in school. I think I’m all done with Halloween now except handing out candy. Grandson is getting too old now for trick or treat. One of our friends said she got over 600 kids knocking on door last year. They live in an affluent gated community. They must bus kids in from other areas. We only get a few kids where we live. Most of them go to activities at the park now.
Dropped off the boss at airport this morning at 7:15 and just about now she should be landing in sunny Sandy Eggo, she goes twice a year to review numbers with a client along with 2 others from Milwaukee. Normally I get to tag along if I buy my own ticket and that’s how I got to meet Doug D. at his wonderful museum. I’m passing on this trip as we are trying to save money for our Alaska trip next June as that will be a one time deal for us and it’s my understanding that the day trips off the cruise ships are very expensive. Plus I’ve spent so many nights in motels since last July I’m more than happy to stay home [tup] and play with trains and go to the Y. We have a speaker tomorrow morning at the Y who was a POW in Viet Nam, really looking forward to hearing his stories yet I know it’s going to be a sad remembrance for him and all Americans.
Speaking of banks – when I wrote that last check for our mortgage a few years ago we had to get a cashiers check, send it in with "over night certified"delivery and we live 17 miles from the national mortgage center! I was willing to drive that check in the next morning at 7:30 AM and hand it to them, that was not acceptable and that’s with my wife being a WF employee, different division. I know they have a protocol to follow but I just don’t get it. Seems like common sense doesn’t count any more, I’m afraid the home town bank is gone forever as are community schools. I guess that’s why we all enjoy toy trains, it’s our empire and we’ll run it the way we want !!
Boy what a nice day here this afternoon. Took MINNIE for a 2.5 miler and then played down by the river, she loves to fetch a stick in the river. Came home took her for another walk then pushed the weights a bit.
JON, BIG CONGAs to you SIR. I don’t get CTT anymore but might have to pick up a copy at BARRYs when I get down there, maybe this friday?
Granny finished with the apples today, the house smells good. Surprise, I got my CTT today, and OGR, somebody goofed. Took a quick look at Jon’s article but will read it later. 9am appointment for my teeth cleaning tomorrow. Glad it’s just for cleaning but I still don’t like it. Banilla is ready for the thingy…S.J.
Dbaker - the EF at your work place is a couple of quantum levels higher than where I work. Your stories are a hoot.
I finally found that Buick wagon in the pits with it’s hood open. It’s secret is the 455 cu.in. v8 with twin turbo chargers and electronic fuel injection. It’s exahust note was quiet with a bit of a lumpy idle. Never did find the owner to talk to. I’m going to guess that the 455 had been enlarged some to boot.
Howdy guys - nothing much going on here. It was a cold and rainy afternoon and the game was postponed.
Happy Birthday, Roy! Good story, Don - also prayers for the family. Congrats, Doug! Prayers for us all and our intentions.
Took off early today to pick up the kids from school, as Char had a big presentation at work. Played some videogames and had a nice chat with SJ tonight.
Brent - personally, I would move that plumbing now and get it over with. Do you have to clean the pipe before using those sharkbites?
TARDIS is ready, so let’s get moving guys! We need to make a pass down to Florida for some tobasco lemonade, which I’ve heard is very good [:)]
You need to come to NC. Community Schools are back in [parents revolted]. Small home town banks are being opened all the time. Folks are moving from big banks to the little guy due to service and less charges.
Just talked to Shake and Bake. Off to bed. Got a 7 AM in Raleigh. Reclinerized from 8 PM to 11:15. Finished the DUI video this afternoon. Some editing and hope it is out next week. Will post a link.
It is rainy in SE Indiana with temps in the 50s. Work went well yesterday. I did 2 miles walking at the YMCA at a 15 minute pace. Had to work hard to do that which shows how out of shape I am. It is a good baseline. Just going to concentrate on walking and eventually running to get my breathing right and weght off. Regular fare sent to “Points East”. TBIL and I can drive. I hope everyone has a good day.
It is a wet and cold 48 degrees. Rained, again, last night. Going up to 58 today with more rain.
Today is a busy day. I have a bunch of paperwork to do and the usual exercises. I will be busy until nap time. Doctor appt., yesterday, went well. All vital signs looked good. Got to take some new meds. Back in a month.
Aloha from a pitch dark Crystal Lake where I can’t tell the weather because it’s still night. Boy, i love reading **DonB’**s dispatches from remote parking… My boy is considering criminal justice and athletic training as majors - what does he know at 17? He has time. His sister is studying marketing and wants to sell. Hope to mulch some leaves today if the sun ever rises. Ray, I’d come out to O’Hare to visit if they’d let me in! Call the airline and make sure you have transport between planes.
Seriously…we are having the same problem with our local schools. The public school students are lucky to hold their own year to year on the standardized tests. Meanwhile, the publicly-funded Charter schools are flourishing. Charter schools are not subject to all of the same State rules and regulations. But they ARE held to somewhat stricter performance standard, are filled before they open, have long waiting lists, and are making the average citizen question why the Charter schools can deliver a better education while the mainstream public schools seem dead in the water. The school distr
