Page 1. Whoopee!

Jusy putzed around the house this weekend. We did enjoy an eight course beer tasting dinner last night. Eight courses, each with a matching beer.

I did stop by the LHS yesterday to find that my cemetary kit for the halloween layout had arrived. Also got an old caboose stripped, ready for a helloween themed repaint too.

About all for now.

Mornin’ all! Just pulled in from NJ, back in Virginia again. I’ve done about a thousand miles since five Saturday afternoon. Ugh!

Good Evening!

Laz & Doug… Really fantastic pictures! Really like the one of the kids next to the 4-8-8.

DJ. Great move for Corey! I’m sure things are not easy for him either. Prays continue for Tyler and your family.

Kev, As the picture of the switcher is from Crivitz, Wi., Are you very familiar with the area? Both sets of my fraternal Great Grandparents lived there. One side had a farm, the other owned “Nesters Corner”, which was a General Store, Bar, and Gas Station. I remember being their often as a child.

Interesting time at work today. First thing that has happened is at work, one of the guys left to return to school full time. I was looking forward to 2 or 3 days, and cooler weather! That’s not happening, of course the weather is really hot right now, 102-105, hopefully short lived, schedules for the next to weeks are 40 hours each! And this is the “slow” time. Hmmmm.

Today was EXTREMELY EVENTFUL! This morning the Chief Engineer on the RR decided it wa time for me to move over for some time in the Right Seat. So I ended up Engineering the train for two trips. That was cool !! Going to take some time to get use to the whistle cord, speed and braking distances. Will be able to do this, just going to take some time.

Good Morning

Got the old sun out and our temperature, right now, is 36F…

Have a bunch of stuff to do today before getting some relatives showing up…so…better be doing this…

Have a great day!!!

Laz and Doug: Great pictures there!! Laz…is the fish catch normal for that area?

Good Morning from Blueberryhill RR…

It is a cold 45 degrees. Going up to 70 today with sunshine.

Today is a busy day. An early errand to run and the usual chores. I will be busy until lunch. Then a nice nap.

Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.

Y’all have a great Monday.

Chuck

October first,Already. How many days till March 1st ? It’s 47 degrees and sunny…S.J.

Hi GUYZ,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my MINNIE DOG!!! She is 2 yrs. old today. We celebrated this morning with a nice 6 mile walk to the river and she chased some squirrels this morning, almost caught one. Thanks for the CONGAs on the fish. Yes this is an unusual run of fish, just hope it happens next year. We are booked for 3 days at Super 8 for Oct 1st 2013. Can’t wait!

Gotta do bills today, balance check book and then start cutting back flowers and plants.

DOUG M, Great pics love the kidos by those BIG WHEELS!! Oh yea, GO BEARs beat those COWGIRLs!!!

Stay frosty,

laz57

Aloha, and Happy Monday. Great ride on the TARDIS last night. Looking for a group of days on my schedule this fall to start redoing the layout for Ivor the Engine. I’ll also have some old metal Marx and misc. cars to sell. Here’s the BN U30C they were using at the IRM yesterday in addition to the CA&E cars.

Good morning guys,

Still not caught up on the old pot yet but did thumb through it.

Brian is taking in his F250 today to see how much damage that deer did. From what I can see it looks like a lot. It even got into the core support, broke it in 4 places. So it will be better than 3K I bet. He is not happy. [:(]

Don, I have been going up to the Crivitz area for about 19 years. Mark’s family has 700+ Ac in SilverCliff. So If you leave Crivitz on A and go north to C then west about 5 miles you would be there. Crivitz is the closes town with anything you would need. About 24 miles from their place so yes I know my way around town by now. [;)]

We went to Laona WI. on Saturday to see the 1916 Valcan 2-6-2 they have there that you can ride into the old logging camp. That is where the speeder was. I got some good shots but too many to post at one time.

DJ. Prayers for Tyler and the rest of your family. [angel]

This shows the scale of the Plymouth. Cute little thing. [:)]

The 1916 Vulcan 2-6-2

Nice photos, Kev. I’ve always wanted to visit Camp 5

Good morning. It’s 60° with 95% humidity. Mostly cloudy. High 75°

Bill paying day. I have a couple of bills to pay online then I’ll be in town paying my bills at those places that refuse to go to online billing. Today I’ll pay off the last item I bought through the History Channel Club and pay off THE LAST payment on my Life Membership. That’ll be that much more money I can use for something else. I don’t think I’ll get much done on the grain elevator today. If I do it would likely be on an upper smaller structure that will be on top of the one I worked on yesterday. I also need to work out how long the galleries will be.

Well best get about the business of the day.

Good Mornin’ Y’all From Partly Sunny Taxachusetts,

Fall is officially here! The trees are starting turning colors in earnest now, and a few leaves are beginning to fall. Peak Fall foliage viewing season for the tourists is right now up in Northern Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont, and is moving Southward. Our peak color will be in about a week to ten days. We have had about four consecutive days of rain and overcast conditions which thankfully came to an end yesterday afternoon.

Then the sun came out, just in time for our 4pm dog training up in Derry New Hampshire. So class was held outdoors. Two new students showed up with dog-reactive dogs, but there was not a peep out of them even though the owners were nervous as can be their dogs would act out and the owners were certain carnage would follow. Those reactive dogs.are in for a whole new wonderful life if their owners stay with it. Dogs recognize when there is a new sheriff in town, their owners who have drawn a line in the sand and sought professional help with their pups. Then the pups just go with the flow, and a whole new world outside their homes and yards opens up…

Yesterday was the official launch of “Haunted Happenings” in Salem MA (the Witch City, just over the harbor bridge South from my place). This is a month- long celebration of all things Halloween and the Salem witch trials of the 1790s. It culminates on Halloween when hundreds of thousands descend on Salem, half of which are decked out in full costume, adults and kids alike.

Last Friday was also the opening day for the Topsfield Fair, the oldest continuously running agricultural fair in the U.S. Topsfield MA. is about 7 miles West of me. The Topsfield Fair had its beginnings around 1820. A shame because it rained all weekend which must have dampened the opening weekend attendence. &

Good morning all,

Just a quick post to try to get in on the first page. Busy day already at work. Cloudy and cool in SE Indiana. TBIL and I can drive. I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Wow!!! A lot of positive stuff has been going on this past weekend.

**Spanky…**thank you for the good news update on Tyler and your whirlwind activities. In such a short period of time you have things ironed out on the medical, school, and living arrangement fronts. You even got a carpet central layout set up!!! I hope Tyler’s test results come back thumbs up and he can start chowing this week. And best wishes that the job interview you had Saturday. What are you doing in your spare time? Hang in there, buddy. [:-^][angel]

**BOC…**I was glad to read you whipped the snot out of your cold with the tried and true remedy. Hope you are making some progress on the weight front. Have you broken out your long underwear yet? 36 degrees may make your surrounds the coldest so far this Fall amongst all of us. [D][dinner][angel]

Brutus… that was good news on your Mom. I hope the effects of her treatments don’t cause her too much discomfort and that they are completely successful. [angel]

**HudsonJohn…**prayers that your Mom’s visit to the Doc today enable them to come up with a course of treatment. She sounds like a pistol!!! Hope she is not a Yankees fan. [angel]

**MikeC…**prayers for you continue. I think you said it best. If we can put perspective on things, sooner or later the sunshine returns. [angel]

**Dennis…**hope you and your family are settling down to just chaos levels. Y

Rainy good morning. Was not suppose to rain until this afternoon late. Got up with light showers. Fine with me. Had teeth cleaned. Off to meetings this afternoon and evening.

Hope all have a great week.

Hello all

Back at work for a few days. Busy trying to finish our summer shutdown activities up. We will start observations in earnest this week.

Got the 3rd Magma ore car in[:D]

Left carb on the '65 Corvair had been re-floated and the car runs better than ever.

Time to find some coffee.

Bob

What happened?!? The sun disappeared, the winds picked way up, and now I am seeing severe weather warnings unfold on TV and out the window. Was going to go out and spread my first coat of Fall fertilizer on the lawn along with some pelletized lime, so that is out.[banghead]

Last night my wife and I attended the wake for a good friend’s Dad. He was 94, bless him. The family did something my wife and I had never seen before. The Dad was decked out in his lucky plaid shirt, his favorite fishing cap, and had his fishing license hanging arould his neck (current, of course). Beats the heck out of a stupid suit and tie which he would never had let himself be seen in.

The wife and I had picked up three of her (female) friends for the wake. After a few miles one of them asked me why I was being so quiet. I responded, “Is that a trick question?” [:-^]

I received my quarterly water bill which covered the Summer months. As you may recall, I had caved in during the heat and drought and watered enough to keep things from dying out completely. $395! [banghead]

I left the house yesterday afternoon for dog training and my 1-2 New England Patriots were having their lunch handed to them into the third quarter, behind 21-7 and with the AFC rival Buffalo Bills (at home) controlling the game. After dog training, I learned that the Patriots had awakened and came back to win 52-28. [:O][tup]

**RaySP/Grillmeister…**we are proud of you. Like Pat said, we all just perform the quick and easy cleaning while the grill is still hot and leave the worry with the rest for the next session. Except in my case, when my son burns something to death when we are not around, then leaves the grill&n

Really hot today and the next couple of days in bankrupt California. The govenor just signed a bunch of laws, all of which I am against. I hate the goverment here, and have learned to try to only get upset about the new laws that cost me money and theres plenty of those. It almost never rains here in summer and everything is dry and brown and dusty. I have no ties here except have lived here since I was 13 and could stand to live where it rains a little more. Still I hate to be cold and its plenty cold here in the winter to me. But I can’t emagine moving. A lot of peope and companies do move because of our intolarable goverment.

Doug M cute kids, I saw little girls triplets at church yesterday

Laz 57 you look similar ro my brother.
