Breaking News:

My daughter Michele just texted me that they dug the foundation for her new house yesterday. Ray, she is putting a train room in and she is having 2 Christmas trees. 1 for presents and 1 for the train!

SJ: I hope that your recovery is going well.

John

Good morning all, it’s sunny, but very cold - it’s February!

RT - Happy Birthday! [bday]

JD - Glad to read that the tests went so well - that is big news!

AF53 - do hope your wife’s sister is recovering well from her surgery!

Brutus - very sorry to read about the wife’s job! Do hope things get back on track after the 21 weeks.

Kev - I do think you are going to enjoy doing scenery. I hate paying the bills, but your right, it’s the first of the month! [^o)]

Joe - I don’t need ketchup on everything, but I do like it on steak, freis and some other fried foods.

Can’t remeber what else was going on. I hope those not feeling well will be back in the saddle soon. Going to spend the bulk of the day working on the railroad. Have a Great day everyone! Bo [:)]

Visit my website Bo’s Trains at http://www.bostrains.com

Well I am back from dropping off the bills at the post office and a trip to Farm & Fleet for 6 bags of softener salt, cat food, bird suit, and TP. Broke already. I guess it is going to be a long month. [:S]
Already up to a whopping 3 degrees with bright sun. Gas has gone up to $3.49.9 and just two weeks ago I got it for $299.9 WTH?? [:(!]
I think I am going to hook up the track today and run the thing for a few days just to see if I like it. I have made temporary bridges so it can run. [%-)]

DJ, Great news for Tyler!!! [8D]

BOC. Get well soon you don’t need this. [angel]

John, Good for your daughter. Nothing better than breaking ground for a new house. We have been lucky and got to twice. I loved the planning and design work the best. Watching a vision come to life is cool. [Y]

Bob, we had a bunch of those small Daewoos running around inside the plants for the maintenance guys.

Jeffery enjoy you day with friends and family. [;)]

Bo, Scenery will come as money permits. I am going to take it slow on this side. [8)]

Joe seeing your in the future, got any stock market tips? [swg]

Prairytype, I have one of those ALCO motors that will not run. I figured it was in the windings. [:(]

Brutus, Sorry about Char’s job. I know what you mean about things getting tight at times. It will pass. [;)]

Banks, That train show sounds like a fun time with the grandkids. [:)]

Ryan, THE MOVIE STAR! Now the pot is complete. [bow]

Prayers for all in need.[angel]

I guess I will head down stairs.

Um… Jeffrey you forgot to apply Buckeye Math. This would mean that RT’s birthday falls on the first of EVERY month.

REALLY, almost impossible, to concentrate at work today…

Fife - looks like I’m missing another trainshow, but this time it is for a worthy cause, and hopefully in due time we’ll be able to do a railfanning day with the kiddos!

Kev - there was an explosion/fire at a refinery in Toledo yesterday that is causing the sharp rise in gas prices… at least that is what the media is claiming. Funny how it takes < 24 hours for the price to go up after an issue, but it takes > 6 months for it to normalize… [:-^]

Brutus - That sucks about Char’s job. A few friends have been laidoff because of it as well. But HEY DC had a $400million surplus - but they are saving it for later and not giving it back to the people who need it. [8o|]

Well I’m off to try and be productive so I can line Chief’s, SJ’s, Chuck, and Kev’s pockets. [:O][;)][:S]

Good afternoon all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the teens. Mixed bag of news everywhere. On the plus side, welcome back to Brent! Some good events possibly occurring on that which I cannot talk about. Found a shop in the nearby mall that had a Buffy calendar (had not had one for a couple of years), and they also sell LEGO and other toys I can get for grandkids and myself. Wish I had been there before Christmas. Bad news is younger daughter may need some gall bladder work done. Not too sure if she has gall stones or a bad gall bladder or both. They may be able to operate today, but they have to run tests. Could be an interesting weekend or next week. TBIL and I can drive again. Brutus, sorry to hear about Char’s work, but I thought the sequesters had been avoided with the last budget deal. Maybe I missed something. I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

MikeC,

Prayers for your daughter and which you cannot talk about. [angel]

Well I hooked it all up and gave it a try. This is without any additional lockons. Boy is it loud on the bare wood.

RT, Happy birthday![bday][bday]

Nice weather this week.

Wife’s procedure went well at the eye doctor yesterday but she says she sees a little black thing once in a while floating around. Might have to go back to see what that is.

later,

Ray

Looks good so far, seems to run fine as well.

RT, [^][bday][G]

Nothing planned for tonight other than a basketball game against Canton (not playing in it, just going to see it).

RT - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!![bday][^][bday]

You to Buckeye! 47 more this year!

Pat

Poor Buckeye, Soo many days in a year and only 47 more birthdays this year. [:-^]

Spank,

Great news about Tyler. [tup]

RT,

[bday]

Brutus and Mike,

[angel]

Been busy this week with my free time spent replacing the rear brakes on the Mustang. Rotors and pads are shot at 47K. Had to buy a tool set to wind the pistons back in, so at least I got new tools to play with.[swg] Once I get this done, I’ll start installing the new brakes up front that I got from Roush. They’re new takeoffs from a '12GT that have larger 13.2" rotors, and I hope they fit.

Unfortunately, I had to let my TCA membership lapse due to money being very tight after buying tires and dealing with these brakes. I’ll probably be removing the Barton shifter and selling it to get some extra cash. I’ll just replace the membership and shifter whenever the situation improves.

RT, you couldn’t wait until I got home today. 20 lashes with a wet noodle. [;)]

Everything fine at lake house. Good to get away.

RT, [bday][bday][^][^][^][^]

Buckeye, if you had informed earlier that you would have been in town, I would have taken you to the hockey game and free food.

Cold here. Yankee cold. Windy and wind chill but not like MI, IL and WI. Bet Ioway is cold too.

Actually had snow flurries at lake house this AM but ground too warm to stick.

In the warm Box. New Trane is doing great. Even back room is the same as the rest of the open area. Seems good.

Well, got to get ready to go pick up the persons going with me. Only got one VIP parking pass [puts you up close to the VIP entrance]. [:-^] Playing the Senators. Last year they beat the Senators when I attended. We’ll see. They are not doing too good this year. Canadien sport anyway [French for Canadian, how did I know that? from the train cars. my old layout was all CN and hand painted and decaled engines and cars]. Just like soccer. Foreign. [:-^]

Later gang.

Well the memorial service for my mother went very well. There were a lot of old friends there to share their thoughts and memories. It was a very good turnout. My father had a lot to say, sharing 57 years of memories takes a while. I got a few photos to share also.

The podium for the speakers:

Her graduation picture from Troup High School, 1955. Yeh Tigers! She and my father met at the high school prom. It was being held in Jacksonville Texas at the Liberty Hotel ballroom. He was in the army then stationed at Camp Chaffee (now Fort Chaffee) Arkansas and was hitchhiking home to Austin Texas to see his parents. He stopped at the Liberty hotel for the night. He cleaned up and went to see what was happening in the ballroom. The entrance-way to the ballroom is where they met. They got married in December 1956.

Her final resting place at the Veteran’s Memorial cemetery. She’s on a hilltop where she can keep an eye on things.

Now to introduce you to my great-nephew John. A 5 year old train nut. The kid is insane about trains! He’s seen photos and videos of what I have so I’m his favorite person. I think I caught him in the middle of a dance step in this photo.

Very nice Jeffery. I am glad it all wnet well.

Thanks for sharing. Have a nice night.

Happy Birthday RT ! [^]

Ohayō,

I’m awake a little earlier than planned this morning, but that’s how it goes when the 2-y/o decides he is ready to go for the day. Last night, the wife and I ate at an off-base restaurant named Sherlock Holmes. It was a Japanese take on typical U.S. steaks and it was great. I had rib eye and lamb and the wife had rib eye and scallops. We thought the name implied some sort of U.K. theme but that wasn’t the case. As we have learned with the names of many Japanese restaurants and stores, the names could have nothing to do with what’s going on inside, such as the one place whose name translates to Donkey Burger but it certainly doesn’t serve donkey. We have no major plans for the day. The wife and I may go for a short run together and then she will go grocery shopping. I’ll probably do some schoolwork.

Happy Birthday RT.

DJ Spanky – I’m glad everything is going well for Tyler.

Kev – Unfortunately all my stock market tips are for the Nikkei. [swg] The new addition makes for a nice, long run – that is awesome.

Sayonara,

Joe

Wonderful tribute to your mom Jeffrey. Looks like it all went well. Thank you for sharing your photos. It is nice that you have a final resting place for her where your family could visit if they wish. Many times, when a family choses cremation, the ashes might be scattered or whatever. I would find that difficult to accept for myself. I like the idea of a place where you can go to remember your loved one. Just my own thoughts. God bless your mom and your family.

Ray

Jeffrey a fitting memorial for you mother. The pictures tell it nicely.

It’s a cold 20 degrees. Another cold spell has begun. For those that ask my skin cancer surgery seems to be healing as one would expect. I can still feel the wound of course but all is well. Thanks for asking. We stayed in today but both of us found things to do, a short nap for me. I’m not sure what she did while I slept…Banilla will be waiting for the thingy…S.J.
