Good morning. Have some things I dont want to do today.
LAZ, where do you go? CSR?
Have a good day
Ryan
Good morning all,
It is snowy in SE Indiana. Took my time and still made it ontime to work. Last night I came home, slept until 6:30, ate leftovers, watched two episodes of MASH, watched “Arrow”, checked emails on PC, went to bed. Could be an interesting day at work. TBIL anytime tonight and I can drive. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
**Ray…**you and your family have my sincerest congrats on your upcoming grandparenthood. As you aptly noted some time back, h-e-a-l-t-h-y is all that really matters.
I notice from the photo that you and John removed all evidemce of the celebratory [B] before you took the photo. I assume that is because the two of you are the ultimate schemers and planners (train purchase strategy) and have expanded your attention to the minutest incrimminating detail into other aspects of your lives. [:-^][tup]

**Phish…**does it look anything like this one? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y24uHOrWx9c
I am glad to hear all is well with you and your family. My only concern is how you are going to fit all of us in your camper. [(-D]

RYAN,
No I take the scrap to Tri State Recyclers on 7th Street. Seem to get a better price there.

32 degrees with light snow. Maybe picked up an inch more on the North Bluff.
This story should bring the Chief much Joy!!
Yesterday afternoon I found out something I did not know about the new Silverado. I went up to the mailbox to take it off of the post so I could fix the door hinge. Anyway I pulled off to the side of the street, put on the 4 way flashers, shut off the truck, left the keys in the ignition and walked to the mailbox. (NEVER DO THIS) [:O] I was taking the screws out that hold the mailbox to the post and the truck horn honks once??? [^o)] What?? [*-)] I walk over to the truck and it has locked itself. [banghead] [banghead] [#oops] Well as some of you know our driveway is ½ mile long. It is cold and I don’t have my heavy winter gear on. [:S] Well anyway I got a nice one-mile walk in that I had not planned on by the time I got back to the house for the extra set of keys. [:(] BTW I did braze a flat washer to the mailbox door and got it fixed. [:-^]
LAZ, you only take your empty beer cans in ONCE a year??? [:-^]
Nice to meet you Jim Pish. [:)]
Good morning. It’s 39° with 65% humidity. It’ll be sunny with a high of 58°.
The plan for today is to clean up the layout. Whether or not that happens remains to be seen. I hope to get out later today when it’s warmer. There’s some light outdoor work that needs to be done and I need to do general preventive maintenance on my van.
LAZ I do alot of business with tristate. Paul and Dave are top notch people.
Aloha. Grey and hopefully warmer. Speaking of warmer, that’s what’s happening to the inside of our two-year old fridge. There’s nothing really to check too on these sealed units. Ah well. Gotta call someone. Nice to check in with the TARDIS crew last night, whilst trying to figure out Minecraft mods.
Kev, I am always fearful of that happening in my wife’s car. It is full of magic bells and whistles that seem to work by themselves. One time I set off some kind of alarm by dropping the key fob. Of course, I couldn’t figure out how to turn it off. I’m always opening the windows instead of the door locks. [:)]
JimFish, that’s a nice Fifth Wheel. They really have you jumping as a Deacon Looking forward to hearing good news about your project.
Ray, congrats on your future grand!
Temp is 35, but a colder weekend is coming.
I couldn’t wait till tomorrow, changed the calenders to March 1st this morning. Starting tomorrow no more complaints about winter from me. Granny fixed me eggs, hash browns and 1 toast for breakfast. We gotta keep that other forum informed of what we eat as they do seemed interested in that. A nice chat with some of the guys last night…S.J.
EDIT: RT we may need you to put on some fresh coffee at midnight, you know how all that popcorn puts the chief to sleep.
Nice weather, Thur. 80/41 Fri. 84/44 Sat. 84/47 I’m going shooting in a little bit with my talkative friend Bill. Haven’t been in awhile as its been too cold or one of us has had a obligation. Good thing he talks a lot as I don’r talk that much.
Laz 57 I have forgotten what kind of dog Minnie is?
SPRay I would follow Rock Isl. advice. The trouble is I have no idea how to know a quality body and paint shop except the recommendation of someone.
I have had my Prelude, CRX, and part of my Fiero painted at 1 Day Paint and Body and will get my del Sol done there soon. It is a Maaco Earl Sheib type place except much better quality preparation and paint. Both my Prelude and CRX needed some body work and had the usual old car nicks, scratches, rough spots etc all over and they do a good job straightening all that out. My Vega I worked and worked sanding and some light body work and its unpleasant hard work They know how to do this fast and have lots of experience, its what they do.
They have a cheap paint job, a medium job and a expensive job. Car Craft magazine had a article on them years ago and they do a lot of hot rods and collector cars with there expensive paint job. I have always got the medium paint job and have had no trouble with paint flaking off. I do wax my cars fairly regularly and all are nice and shinny and look good.I believe their west coast only…
Hello all.
Cloudy low 30’s here.
A quick post to welcome back Phish. I missed you and your inspiration. Glad all is well.
Got my YORK badge in the mail yesterday. I’m looking forward to a few days away and a visit with some of you.
Best keep on moving.
Prayers for those in need.
I had chipotle cheese-steak pasta for lunch. I added some of my special hot sauce to it and man was that good! Good and hot! I’m still sweating. I did some clean-up work on the layout this morning. I can see more of it now. There’s still quite a ways to go though.
Contractors are at my nieces new home (formerly my parents house) starting the tear-out on the west wing (my father lives in the newer east wing). All the ceiling tile, paneling and floor covering in the west wing has to go. After that the wiring will be brought up to code (currently pre-1970). That means grounded three prong outlets! Before today the only room in the west wing that had them was my fathers office and that was only on one wall. We had put down an eight foot grounding rod outside and run a heavy copper wire inside to ground those three receptacles. That put an end to fried electronics from lightning, in that room at least. The entire west wing is to be remodeled. No more paneling. Sheetrock will be going up. Two full bathrooms will be combined to make one large bathroom. Part of the wall between a large den and what was my fathers office will be removed so it’s one very large room. That’s all I know for now.
Kev - scroll about 2/3 down this page (look for the post from user jivy99) and you have your answer - it can be done, but you have to take the truck to the dealer… also - you maybe satisfied with one of the other DIC settings. http://chevroletforum.com/forum/silverado-fullsize-pick-ups-21/disable-auto-door-locks-2006-silverado-2445/
This is one reason I like my BMWs, there are so many customizable features. I just wish my door lock actuator hadn’t failed on the driver’s front door and I could figure out how to pop the panel and replace it… oh well… I’m not paying over $300 to have it fixed and will just deal with it till I trade the car in. Next one won’t be a BMW because I need an SUV, thinking either Toyota Highlander, Lincoln MKX, Nissan Pathfinder, or Dodge Durango. Kinda leaning toward the Dodge or Lincoln right now - like the size of the Durango, but like the styling and FWD of the MKX…
**LAZ…**I didn’t believe that part either. [:-^][(-D]

Banks - finally remembered to renew my TCA Membership and order by York badge after TheQ reminded me about it! Got that done last week, still waiting for new Membership and Badge… last year I renewed and ordered the badge on the same day (like this year) and the Badge arrived first… we’ll see if it happens again!
Got the IT’S A BOY car ordered on Monday, arrived today. Now have to find appropriate pics of Christina (for her car) and Matthew (for his car) and get them finished.
Christina will be 19months old tomorrow… wow time has really flown by!
This is what SHE chose to wear to daycare today
YES she is a girl!
Phish,
Are you still buying American Flyer, or have you switched to Marx completely? The AF bug is a tough thing to get rid of in my experience.[swg]
Fired up the desktop last night and heard a series of long repeating beeps. Turns out, it failed POST due to a RAM issue. Several reboots confirmed what I was thinking. Removed and reinstalled both RAM sticks, and all is well.[:S]
Any thoughts on that Brent?
BTW, I don’t think I’ll be able to make it to York in April.[;)]
**Brent…**go for the Lincoln MKT, not the MKZ. The MKT is larger and will accomodate 4-5 adults (or 2 car seats) plus a lot more luggage capacity (plus strollers, diaper bags, toys, coolers, etc.). If you need the additional passenger capacity, the MKT comes with a deployable (or fold flat) third row seat (will seat 7 and still have room for luggage). Of course, it has AWD. And since you might be feeling sorry for yourself moving to a more “family friendly” vehicle, the MKT comes with a 3.5L twin turbocharged V6 that develops somewhere in the vicinity of 350 horsepower and a like figure for torque…perfect for towing the boat and the camper you will be buying and/or keeping pace with the Beemers out on the road… [tup][swg]
