COFFEE POT #6 JUNE 2010 for all to take a drink and chat. Welcome all posters. 5 yrs old and still going. Sweet ice tea too.

Hello all,

Haven’t been in much lately, finally got caught up this evening. Been busy trying to plant garden and make hay in between rain storms. Still need to back fill Dad’s hole as well.

Spent most of Saturday upgrading the rear wheel on the KTM to a wide rim. Had to fabricate a new bracket to support the chain guide. We put a new knobby on a wide rim Son used for drag racing. He hasn’t dragged his KTM for a couple of years so we decided to put the wide rim to use on the Hill climb bike. It helped a lot but neither of us could put a good ride together in all the mud on the hill yesterday

Not much time for trains

Chief, congrats on the Beaver Accessory and the new puppy.

Bob, Thanks for the update on Navyjack. I knew his PC died and was hoping some one had been in touch with him.

Probe, any job prospects yet?

June 19th I’ll be waving to all you in the Baltimore area as I travel RT 32 on the way to the beach, can’t wait.

Gonna join my lovely Mrs. in bed. 5:00 AM will come too soon

Prayers for all who may need them

Banks,

No calls yet but I keep applying to as many places as I can find.

Bob,

I haven’t read an issue of CTT since my subscription lapsed in 2008. The only place I can buy it is the LHS, but that is a 45 minute drive, and I am not particularly fond of the new owner. I think Phish is looking for one of those 353 circus locos.

Chief–

Nice looking pup! Would like to have another best friend but with the ability to travel now it just wouldn’t be fair to board a friend so much. It’s been six years since I held my good buddy and said good bye, sure miss him.

Well, the party is over … thank goodness. The boss comes home tomorrow afternoon after 18 days of being in the Scandinavian countries, sure good to hear her voice tonight after she landed in MPLS. At our sons home tonight and will be here early tomorrow afternoon, I sure missed her but I also know that this time with her 3 sisters was a very special time that cannot be replicated. It was also special that I could be on the road with our youngest son for 6 six days, even if it was going south … Buckeye–checked with the dentist and he said my teeth would OK if I only had sweet tea once but any more than once would create serious problems, whew … dodged a bullet there.

Almost time for bed, need to get up extra early tomorrow to do one final spiffing up of the house plus get roses for the return party [tup]

Evening all

Really nice out. All the windows are open and the cool breeze is coming in. Cut grass, did some tree trimming nad roto tilled the garden.

Bob - The 353’s are really neat! I almost bid on a circus set on the bay, but I had just got a 357 Ruger GP100 in stainless so there went the train fund! One of these days I’ll get one. I’m patient. I have in mind when the layout gets built to have the Circus Train next to the bigtop circus tent set I have. It would be really cool.

Chief - Nice looking pup!

Good night and may God bless

Jim

Sunny and low 80’s today.

Typical Monday. Put in some long hours for you guy’s SS contribution today.

All this talk of trimming bushes and pruning trees. I noticed similar work around my yard tonight when I mowed the lawn. Ya know - it will still be there tomorrow, and the day after that, and when I finally get to it.

Just scored a C&O #225 alco on the e-bay. It is not prime, but that makes it perfect for that hack & chop project I’ve got in mind for a pair of #200 series Alcos. One down, one to go.

Chief - congrats on your new family member. Think your golf cart will be big enough when he wants to ride like Lucy?

Had to chuckle a bit this weekend. A Stray Cats song was on the radio Saturday while I was driving my Cobalt SS. Of course, I turned the volume up a little. It tickled me just a bit to think about the reactions of those outside the car, as Stray Cats is not typical music (at least in this town) to be playing in such a car.

Later, allegators.

HI GUYZ,

1 more day o school to go!!!

Good Morning from Blueberryhill…

It is a sunny 65 degrees. Going up to 78 today with mostly sunshine.

Today is an easy day. I have a few choores to do and then I will relax. Legs are a bit achy and right knee hurts. Lots of walking at PT yesterday. Felt good. Each day I can go a little farther.

Dining car is here and it’s the usual for breakfast.

Y’all have a great Tuesday.

Chuck

Good morning all. Heading in momentarily. Have my scripture reading to do and then it is off to the hospital. 8N, I saw the Stray Cats back when I went to Daytona for Spring Break. Lots of memories there, but then again, lots of lost memories too. Glad I survived those days.

Laz, congratulations on the end of school. You going to play that Alice Cooper song on the radio on your way out? Hope the summer is good for you and that you are able to get back to running that steam engine.

Have to go, but hope each of you has a great day.
God BLess,
Dennis

Mornin’ all!

Getting nailed by allergies since last night - my eyes are so bad that I can’t even put my contacts in. I hope that it dies down soon.

Had my therapy yesterday morning during which we worked the hamstring again. No problems so far. Hopefully I’m past this issue and it’s full steam ahead. We’ll see.

Aloha from a grey and cool Chicago. Hope your allergies ease soon, Spanky, I really felt the pressure change as this front came in last night. Ugh. Nice pup, Chief. I had a labradoodle once - craziest dog ever. but sweet. Those 353s make me think of getting some AF track. They sure look sharp. Roy, that Maggie is sure a smart dog. You need to video her someday annoying the waterfowl. I’ll bet it’s a hoot. I’ll have to look for the Stray Cats on Pandora today. Like that band. Hope you all have a good day.

Good morning all,

It is another beautiful sunny day somewhere in the South. Got access to a PC to leave a message. Bad storms on the drive down Sunday. Nice visit to Coca Cola museum on Monday. I had a great breakfast on Monday and Tuesday. TBIL after “Glee” tonight from a secret spot. I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good Mornin’ Ya’ll From Sunny and Seasonable Taxachusetts,

Mid 50s at night and low to mid 70s during the day. Windows open 36 hours now and the lawn may be dry enough to tackle today sometime. My buddy who left his S2 Turbine 671RR here since Christmas (running on my holiday layout) seems to have forgotten it. As a matter of morals and ethics, am I required to keep reminding him to pick it up, or would I be a better friend by “storing” it for him? [}:)]

Chuck…that’s good news. The race goes not to the swiftest and you are making great progress. Hang in there, stay motivated, and share more pictures. [(-D]

Fife…hope Fifepup is holding up. Prayers for his complete recovery.

JimmyT/Ray…it doesn’t matter what I turn on for TV viewing. My wife has a complete and separate set of preferences like we are from different planets. She will turn on anything with “ghosts.” I can’t see the sense of watching folks through a night vision goggle view, screaming and carrying on, and nothing happens for an hour.

Chief…[tup] and congratulations on FIN! What kind of Doodle is FIN? That makes three hammocks you have to add to the porch just for the dogs. [:D]

SJ…I’m following your lead except I think I will mow half today and half tomorrow.

Brent…how is rehab going on that shoulder and on tha

I did a post last night after Town Board. I guess CTT ate it!!! @#^*

It was: Next porject for the CTT gang is to collect funds for Buckeye to get glasses. Seems his eyesight has gone. I had posted earlier for a prayer for safe travel for Mike C. and Wifey. Also, he is coming to Roseyville on his way back to Yankeeland. If not eyesight probem, then dementure has set in. [:-^]

Puppy day has been drink water, eat, pee and poop. Only one small “piddle” over night in mudroom [tile floor] and one just before I got up [slept late and heard him whinning, probably wanting to go out.]. BTW: former owner said that the pups had not pooped in the house since they were old enough to go out. Sleeping now with Lucy and Burg. Burg has only done one growl/snap at him. Was not a dangerous one but an “I’m in charge” one. All seems well [knock on wood]. Errands today. Garden to pick.

Later.

Monring all!

Hot (90’s) and humid. Might get some rain over next couple of days. 4 inches low after last month with only 1 inch of rain.

Chief - the gang would also like to note that if you install the Chief vs the Beavers on your layout - you can now claim you have started your “scenery” on the plywood prairie! [(-D]

Have a great day all!

Mornin’ Fellas

Jack - I’ve only been to one visit with the Professional Torturer Physical Therapist. She didn’t get through much because she spent most of the time creating my new splint. However the few ‘excersises’ she gave me for the wrist have left me with a sore, swollen, wrist. [:(] I go back tonight for round 2.

Fife - Sounds like he is ‘holding’ just right for a lad his age! [;)]

JT - are you looking for Summer work, or have you a Bachelor’s degree now?

Good Morning

Sun and 70, rain expected later towards nite time.

Took granny for her blood test and we stopped at the grocery for a few things? we all know how much a FEW things cost don’t we. Well home now and she did fix me eggs bacon taters and toast. Guess I’m good till the rain comes. lol…S.J.

Afternoon all,

It is simply beautiful in Southern Ohio, mid 70’s low humidity.

Looking into a holster for the Ruger GP100, any reccomendations?

Chief - Have you ever tried crate training? We did for two dogs now and it works great.

LAZ - MAde it through another year!

May God bless

Jim

Hello all

Quick sip at lunch time

Help me out. Is this a pre-war item?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120577969838&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

What’s a fair price for it?

Thanks

Prayers for all who may need them

Chief, congratulations on the new puppy.

Son returned from the East Coast last night and had a safe trip.

Hope Navyjack gets his computer fixed. I know the forum means a lot to him because he is a shut in apparently.

Still fooling with sprinkler valves etc. It must be a bad solonoid. The water came on when I banged on it.

Took first swim in the pool last night. Temp was 82 without a heater.

Squirrels have adopted me I think. They run along the telephone wires behind house near my pool. They used to run when they saw me but now they just lounge on a perch up there and stare at me. They are probably drinking water out of the pool. Racoons used to hang around pool too looking for bugs and insects that wash up on the sides. Haven’t seen any this year yet.

Ran some trains and listened to music in train room yesterday before it got too hot. Gave my Seaboard E8’s a workout and my Atlantic Coast Line GP7. Been running a long reefer train lately and giving the boxcars etc. a rest. I run a lot of passenger equipment all the time. Consist yesterday was some GGD scale length pullmans behind the E8’s.

Election day today. Have to get down to the polls.

Later,

Ray

With the squirrels up there watching, I guess that stops any skinny dipping.[}:)] If the pool water is dirty on occasion, it may be from the raccoons washing there hands. When they find water, they can’t resist.[:-^]
