COFFEE POT #8, for all to take a drink and chat. Welcome all posters. 4 yrs old and still going.

Evenin’ All.

Nice quiet day here, spent most of the morning working on flatcars & loads. Almost finished, thank goodness, kinda cross-eyed after fooling with all those little PS-4 chains w/hooks. Like the Lionel flats but the Weaver are much better to work with, IMHO.

The other half got back from their “24hr walk-a-thon” about noon. After unloading all the stuff from the car, she crashed. Don’t expect she’ll be ambulatory & cognitive til tomorrow morning. [:-^]

Made the All Gauge show yesterday, pretty good show with lots of “O” and “S”. Picked up a UP caboose, but no Weaver flats darn it. Some good buys but most were a bit high, weather was cool & drizzly.

Hope all had a Happy Father’s Day.

Good Evening

Nice weather today, 70s but humid. I just finished running a couple of trains. A few laps is good medicine for the soul, soothing. After steak on wednesday and prime rib on Friday I was ready for something else today. Granny asked, I said lets go. McDs two .99 cheeseburgers shared fries and a banilla milk shake. And I was thankful.

Brutus fire up the thingy and lets go…Banilla is melting better hurry…S.J.

Evening to All,

Another busy weekend is coming to a close. SIL was taken to airport, visited Dad and the rest of the family, had dinner with son, his GF and met her parents for the first time. Had a very nice dinner at Old Ebbits Grill in DC. Great food in a great atmosphere with very reasonable prices for the quality of food and service.

Did not get out to the train room yesterday, but managed to take a nap and still get some errands done.

I have training for work 3.5 out of 5 days this week and then vacation for two weeks. I’ve got lots to do in a day and a half this week.

Take care,

Mitch

Evening all and Happy Fathers Day!

I spent the day lounging, watching races (IRL and NASCAR). Then we went to my favorite fish restaurant for dinner.

Also had the thrill of taking my 15 year old and his learners permit for a little run on the freeway on the way back from dinner. Please note that even doing this on a Sun afternoon in Dallas traffic is kind of like spending a week stuck on the worlds largest roller coaster. The good news is he is pretty good at driving and I think he will handle this a lot smoother than my daughter did at this age. The best part was the commentary coming from my daughter and wife in the back seat. Now my daughter better appreciates what we went through with her. This made for an outstanding fathers day - doing fatherly things! Great to watch them grow up.

Have a great evening all!

Mitch, glad you are getting some time off at last!

Went to folks’ for dinner, another bbq, and good to visit with family - had sisters and their families in from out of town. My brother was hilarious as usual - he is so funny, he really would make some money as a comedian I think. He does well in sales too, though [:)] No trains today, but I did order a box of gg track for my future layout with some allowance I was saving. Once that comes in, I should have no excuses other than the unfinished walls, ceiling and floors, lol!

TARDIS is ready and beacons are on the screen so I’ll catch you guys in a minute - I have rootbeer and Old Mills, Black Lager (Sam A), and something called Flat Tires - is that a beer or a lager? Here we go!

Not much done today. Watched a little IRL, all of the F1, and the last couple of laps of NASCAR. I was in and out of the living room while the IRL race was on. Seems like every time I started to watch there was a caution. The F1 season continues to be interesting. Red Bull sure made a good showing today.

Brutus - at least you don’t have bats in your unfinished room.

Last Call, almost beddy-bye time.

I realize that one of our members is somewhat famous or is that infamous. [swg] However was I ever surprised when I came upon this on E-Bay, be sure to notice the description.

That sure doesn’t look like the official Roseyville Logo on the door. [:o)]

Jim, With respect to your choice of beer, [tup] . When we have the usual holiday gatherings here at the house we usually get the seasonal offerings from Sam A. and some good ole “Fat Tire Beer”.

BACK HOME. Lucy andI stayed until this afternoon [or pretty close to it]. Came in driveway at 12:35 PM. Father’s Day meal was at 1:30 with FIL, MIL and Beth [second wife]. Pam’s sisters had left for Myrtle Beach as soon as their Dad came home from the hospital. BTW: he is doing great. Then went to pond and killed some time. Got phone call from John Bakeer in good ole England. Watched some movies and reclinerized a lot. Just woke up. Lucy kept getting me up at 6 AM at the lake house. Worked my tootoo off. Temps hear a 100 degress. We took lots of golf cart rides to cool off. Pontoon ready to launch. Water dropping fast so probably launch this week. Got Chamber Expo Tuesday evening and will hit the road after that. Willb e Burg, Lucy and myself. Pam off to the beach with sisters [she is picking up Youngest and Carter]. I’ll be back Friday as got ribbon cutting for new business Fraiday afternoon. Hope all are doing well and still prayers for Brutus’ wife. Off to bed.

Great talking with you Chief.

0700 in a dull damp Stockport.

Going Goulash hunting in darkest Cheshire with my armourer and batwoman.

Hope all the other dads had a good FD.

Good Morning everyone! Well, we pulled in the driveway about 6pm yesterday. I was exhausted from all the meetings and then the drive. Still could use some more sleep, but in a rhythm of getting up at O’dark early. Not sure that I will change much in how we do things for now, but with some of the new technology coming down, we will have more tools at our disposal in the future.

Chief, nice car, but why are you letting them sell her off? If it was 1/48th, I would bid. Glad your FIL is doing well. Never easy when we have family going through issues like that. Glad they are on top of things and treating him with good results.

Fife, I will have to load some photos from the trip. We went to the Harbor Town Yacht Club for dinner at Topsail and took some photos of your “next boat”. Some mighty fine toys docked there!

Brutus, as always, we will continue with prayers.

Laz, now that is one cool locomotive! Given the location of that whistle, you may want to invest in some good ear protection. I have seen a similar locomotive parked around these parts at a old mill. I will try to get some photos if she is still there. I don’t think it is in operating condition though.

Well, finally getting caught up on things. Wish I could say that the trip to Hilton Head was a lot of fun, but it was a lot of work, with a little fun thrown in. Had some good seafood, and spent a little time on the beach, but not much. Mostly in meetings from 0700 till 1700 each day. Sunday, we finished about 11 and I took off.

Glad to be home. God Bless,
Dennis

Good morning all,

It is rainy already in SE Indiana. Going to be a scorcher again in SE Indiana today. Did some Second Life last night. Team Red won again in the IRL ( this time it was Franchiiti, “Mr. Ashley Judd”). For a few laps, there was some faint hope of some good results as not only the first, but the second position was held by non Team Green and Team Red cars. Alas, that did not last long. AJ’s car got taken out early. Princess was ninth. Vettel won the British F-1 race for Red Bull. I had bran muffins on the dining car for breakfast. Beacon is lit. I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Good Morning–

We’re going to a high of 27C in the sunshine—we seem to be out’n the rain bucket we’ve been stuck with the past while. The low tonight will be 17C and the high tomorrow will be 28C in the mix of sun/cloud----

Got some running around to do for work this afternoon as well as some more garden stuff as we still need to shuffle–or is that RE-shuffle?–plantings around----I’m also going to see if’n I can’t get some better pix with the camera in manual. [:-^] I have to brush up on my photography skills somehow----heeheehee[:-,][swg]

Good Morning

Sun is up and middle 80s today.

I am on my way out to cut the grass. The ground was too wet Saturday so today is it. BLTs for breakfast, now I am ready. I don’t drink much anymore but if I did have a beer my favorite brand is " ice COLD"…S.J.

Morning all!

Will be out and about getting the girls equipped for fishing. Dora, and Diego poles are on tap, along with bobbers.

Finally able to get the CPI photos in. I’ll mail the Q today Wes. Sorry about the delay.

Kurt

Morning all!

Summer formally arrived here. High 90’s today and 100 predicted for tomorrow. Getting ready to leave at the end of this week for annual 4th o’ July trip to Tennessee. Friends, lot’s o’ kids, beer, BBQ, water sports, and plain o’ summer fun.

The Chief’s car is at a wopping 99 cents. A bit pricy for Rosyville.

Chief - glad to hear FIL is better.

Jim - continued prayers for your wife.

Have a great day all!

Morning. Slept to 8:30 EDT. Thanks to Lucy. Downloaded pictures of lake house since we have planted flowers, trimmed trees and done touchups.

Here is one of my buddy ready to “roll”. Loves to ride the golf cart. Will sit there for hours waiting for a ride. She usually gets one every half hour or so.

Now to go mow and spray garden, vines and trees here.

Later.

PS: SJ, I am having “real” tomato sandwiches for lunch. Real meaning from the garden and ripe and juicy. Not the ones I started in the greenhouse in big pots but the ones I planted as small plants. You Yanks have not gotten that far in growing season. [:-^]

chief I have tomatoes already from our garden both red and yellow tomatoes Donna likes the Yellow ones. I like adding bacon and lettuce on toast to mine with mayo of coarse

morning all had a nice chat last night with Brutus,SJ,and Charlie on IM.

will talk more later

HI GYZ,

Well just got done watching US OPEN, close one for PHIL, DAVID DUVALL, and the winner LUCAS GLOVER. Well done!

Did laz CAMP at 060 this morning. Ran an easy 6 miler then did the bike for a short 4 miles then cut the grass weed wacked, ate lunch. Now to take recyclables in. Tomorrow got to be in Asland to fire up the Lokie at 0700 so it means getting up at 0430 to get workout in and travel 50 minutes up. Looking forward to it.

DENNIS, that Lokie next to an OL MIL? I’m getting thursty.

CHIEF, tomatoe sandwiches, you are lucky, we only got blossoms on my tomatoe plants.

Stay frosty,

laz57

Good Afternoon,

Have been extremely busy lately and have not had a chance to get on here much. The temps are crazy lately around 96 for a high and very humid, the weatherman said it feels more like 110 with the heat factor thrown in.

Went to Stuart FL on saturday to visit my parents for Father’s Day, had to work sunday.

Went to the docter’s office this morning, a walk-in clinic, as I wasn’t feeling the best I could on freiday afternoon, said I may have been exposed to the heat too much on friday. Everything checked out alright, did an EKG and that was good, checked my blood and will know something by friday if there is any problem, blood sugar at good level so I am not diabetic.

Trying to fix John Deere riding mower, think I have a clogged fuel line from the tank to the fuel filter. Did a minor tun-up last weekend, replaced spark plug and fuel filter, air filter still looks good, and still tries to cut out at low engine speeds mainly and twice while at full throttle while mowing.

Having my wife’s cousin and freind come down from Camilla GA for the weekend of July 4th.

Going to work on my trains some if time permits today.

Lee F.
