Hi guys,
Thought I would try to start the new pot for the Chief. So I thought I had better jump in a bit early. [;)]
No wife tonight so I had nothing better to do anyway.
I worked in the train room most of the day installing the Lionel Animated Truck Loading Dock to the lay out.
It is kind of a piece of junk but I got it so I will use it. I had to re-wire it so you could use the lights without the noisy man movement running. I also re-painted it and turned the roof around so you could see the action inside. Once I hooked it up I found out that the on-off switch it came with was no good. So I installed 5 more accessory switches into the main control panel.
I ordered a K-Line semi truck to use with it on SJ’s advice. I should see it next week.
Anyway catch you later. Have a nice Labor Day weekend and lets not forget those who fought so we could enjoy it.
HummI can’t see my post. Chief’s security system must be working. Guess I will try again. I lost my connection so it may of sent it into The Twilight Zone.

Ok little ones back in school . House is too quiet during the day now. Guess I should start cleaning the basement so I can actually walk all the way around the layout.
Kev,
I’ve never seen one of those Loading Docks outside of the '96 catalog. From what I’ve heard, they didn’t do much of anything, and their high price didn’t help sales.
Jim,
I don’t know what they cost new but I only got $28.45 in it with the shipping and it was sealed in the box… If I could do it over I would pass. I will post some pictures later when I finish the scene. [tdn]
Kev,
I think they were $100-$150 new.[:O] I’ll have to find the catalog and check it out.
Well my nephew had time to work on the van today. We got the wheel off, inspected the caliper and it was locked up all right. We got it backed off so it could be removed. The brake hose was still in good shape. Then the caliper was knocked off and fell to the ground and busted the brake hose off at the center support bracket. Darn! Only part I didn’t have! I’ve ordered a new one through O’Reilly but it’s going to be Wednesday when it comes in due to the holiday. The cost is $30. The brake hose costs more than the caliper did. So caliper $15, pads $15, brake hose $30. There’s $60. Throw in the jack, another $55. Total so far $115. So looks like it’s going to be on the jack stand for a few days. I put the wheel back on and turned a couple of the lug nuts finger tight so if Mr Murphy says the stand should fail for some reason it won’t slam the front end into the ground.
It’s 86 tonight, went to 95. I spent most of the morning outside but the heavy afternoon air chased me in for a nap. No banilla for me tonight I had Cheerios instead…S.J.
No rain yet from the leftovers from Isaac but the weather guesser seems sure we will get some from it. I hope so. [st] George is missing in action so he must think it is not going to rain anytime soon.
It took the wife 1.4 hours to get to the daughters place after she got off of work. 18 miles??? [*-)] She forgot to turn on her cell phone so the daughter was in freak out mode and called me like 2 times before the wife showed up. My wife could get lost in a fish bowl. [#dots]
Jeffery, I think you should of planned on replacing those brake hoses at that age. better safe than sorry. I have replaced both of the calipers on my 2001 Dodge. I changed one and a week later the other one froze up. [banghead]
JimProbe. If Lionel charged $100.00 to $150.00 for that POS transfer station they should be ashamed of themselves.
Beam me up guys.
Night

Yep! I should have! Chalk another one up for Mr Murphy.
What remains of Isaac got here today. The cloud line was just north of town when I drove to work this morning. Got some much needed rain on and off most of the day.
TGIF!
Ran trains a bit tonight. Built a train with all of my ACF stock cars. The best looking combination was when I had the A-B-A Texas Special FT’s pulling the train.
We’ve got some foundation shifting going on because of the drought. Had a couple of contractors out to look at it. It is going to put a dent in the funds I set aside for investment - then again, I’m just investing in something I did not originally plan on investing in at this time.
All for now.
8N, where do you live?
Time for me to call it a night. See y’all tomorrow.

Konnichiwa,
Last night, the wife and I went out to dinner sans kids. We ended up at an off-base place known for its rice dishes. This place’s ordering process consisted of putting money into a vending machine device and selecting the items by pushing the buttons. The machine provides you tickets which you then hand to the waitress after having a seat. The machine buttons had pictures but the descriptions were written in Japanese which always presents us the opportunity for some excitement. [:O] We were able to get my wife a rice and egg dish which was very good. We also had some gyoza (dumplings) and they were great as well. However, the meal I ordered was not to my liking. It was a noddle dish and it tasted fine, but it was served cold. The Japanese do have many cold noodle dishes; I just prefer my noodles hot. The other treat in my dish was something I thought was supposed to be a radish but actually turned out to be some sort of fish parts [+o(] – it did not leave a good taste in my mouth. Next time, I’ll stick to the rice dishes.
Today I planned to take the family to a nearby mountain for an easy hike and some waterfall viewing; however, it has been raining most of the day so that could not happen. I think we will go bowling after dinner tonight. I’ve been doing chores around the house and was also able to watch the MSU-BSU football game; it was a good one. I also was able to catch a ride on the Tardis with Brutus, SJ, and Kev. I was able to say hello to Charlie before the Tardis ride.
Kev – I’m glad the wife made it safely. I’m looking forward to seeing the loading dock photos.
Sayonara,
Joe
Good Morning from Blueberryhill RR…
It is a cloudy and humid 72 degrees. Going up to 88 today with a good chance of rain.
Today is a busy day. I have a few errands to run and the usual chores to do. I have to finish a project too. Busy until lunch and then a well deserved nap.
Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.
Y’all have a great Saturday.
Chuck
Mormin’ moys. Wade-a-mimen, goda tah da gawz out. Cloudy and 77 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Well, got that nasty tooth pulled yesterday right after work. Full hour in the chair, and had to be numbed 4x, but it’s done. Spent rest of the evening at the beach, strummin’ the uke.
New backdrop is really coming along, and Alexis has been enjoying using the tree stamps to “forest” the hillsides. I Have these pale yellow storage cabinets in the layout room, and continued the scenery on them too. Really brightens up the space. Can’t wait to begin the benchwork.
Probe - No sense waiting. Get it taken out and be done with. My wisdom teeth were a bad experience, which is why I hadn’t been back in over a decade. Wifey’s are killing her right now…
Banks - Micardis HCT.
Morning all,
Well George the cat just decided to come home. He was out all night but it is just starting to rain and they say it will all day so now he shows up. [:S]
Fife, JimProbe, My lower wisdom teeth were impacted and they had to be broken into two parts and cut out from the flesh and chipped out of the jaw bone. I was about 24 years old when they took them out. The dentist gave me a scrip for morphine sulfate. I said that stuff is for the battle field and he smiled and said, you will think you were there when the Novocaine is gone. He was right. [:O] Don’t remember anything that bad since. [xx(]
Darn Caterpillar I see has not made my direct deposit into my account. I got all of the bills done and ready to mail but no money. They love to screw you if the first falls on a weekend. Bet they don’t deposit it till Tuesday now. They love to hold your money as long as they can. [:(!] If I call the bank they will say it has not been deposited but Cat’s deposit slip I got in the mail said deposit date 9-1-12. They even call it the Non-Contributory Pension Plan. [:^)] I think I contributed 36 years to get it. [banghead] It is tuff when you only get paid once a month to line up all of your bills but I have been doing it for about 8 years now.
Rain is falling. Thank you Lord.
Good morning. It’s 78°, humidity is 96%. There’s a fair chance of rain. The high will be 91° but will feel like 104°.

No plans for today. I feel very tired and my eyes are hurting. I think I’ll just use today to get some rest. It’s not like I’m going anywhere.

It’s 70 kinda between cloudy and sunny. I just peeked in the kitchen and grannys fixin biscuits and gravy. We did some outdoor chores yesterday and probably won’t hear from the kids so it would appear we will be home alone for the weekend. September 1st already…it can’t be…S.J.
Good morning all,
It is cloudy with Isaac’s rain hopefully on the way. “My” soccer teams both won Thursday with the girls 3-0 and the boys 2-0. What was particularly gratifying was that I reminded the girls that this was one of the 6 I expected them to win. Last year they lost to this team, and I would like to think that the fact I believed they could win might have helped with the motivation. The coach did a great job of subbing in a timely and appropriate manner. TBIL and I can drive. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
