Cold Weather, I'm back!

It’s crazy, but the change of the seasons drives me back to working on my sectional piece of my layout. I hadn’t touched it for months due to bike riding, work and basement construction. But boy, as soon as the leaves change I’m ready to get back into it.

I’ve cut the legs off of it and layed it down on some old plastic saw horses. This way I can lay it down and work on the top and then I can flip it up on it’s back and work on the wiring and switch machines. It’s a heck of a lot easier than trying to be a contorsionist to get my wires and solder joints made. I’ve gotten all of my BullFrog switch machines working and I’ve made a layout stencil on my fascia board and mounted LED’s on it that work with the Bullfrog switches to turn the LED on on which ever track the switch is switched to. I think that’s pretty neat. The next thing is to get some topside track details with lights in them for real affect.

I’ll get some Pics posted soon. It’s great to be back.

Ya, you and everybody else. This place was a ghost town during the summer…

Welcome back. Seems most of us (Garden RR folks excepted) don’'t get into the train room as often during the summer. I made it in a few times, because it was the coolest place I could find. Unfortunately, the heat had sapped most of my energy, so I watched the train run laps, (good reason for continuous running) little progress.

Have fun,

[#welcome] Back

Isn’t this greatest hobby?

You can leave and return to it exactly as it was when you left. A little more dust on it, maybe.

Well, that´s one problem I don´t have - for me, MRRing is a year-around thing. Aside from a few warmer days in what is called summer, our seasons are just winter and almost winter. Have I forgot to mention road construction?

I’m one of the exceptions mentioned above as of September of this year. I finished the first loop of my garden railroad then, thanks to the able assistance of my 6 year old grandson. I’m really looking forward to next summer and doing more with it. In the meantime, I have a renewed interest in my indoor layout as well. Also planned for after the holidays is starting construction of buildings for the outdoor railroad. Should be a fun winter.

I am a year round modeler, although during the warmer season, I split time between basement layout and the garden layout. Colder? to the basement.

Summer is for outdoors and watching the real trains
