Why are there no video cameras on fronts of trains where the railroads can’t hide the smokin’ gun—crossing equipment failed, sight obstructions, box cars illegally parked in area etc. There is a black box event recorder on the train and one in most gate equipment houseings that give train speeds, whistles, brakes, and running light activity. The one in the gate house gives if the gates gave the proper 26 second warning or worked at all. Why are these not immediately seized by the police where the railroads can’t Napster a copy from some other properally running crossing and train? The cops should know within 20 minutes what the real speed was not the train crew saying 20 mph after the road foreman thumped in the chest a few times with his finger "you were not going 60 mph, tell them 20 mph!’
(05/24/03) BERGENFIELD - The Bergenfield Police Department and CSX Corporation confirm there was a fatal collision between a car and a freight train Saturday morning. It happened at 12:22 a.m. at the crossing located at New Bridge Road in Bergenfield, Bergen County.

It is not clear exactly how the collision occured, if the car drove past the ba

According to the time on the police report I bet the guy was drunk or just stupid.Look LIsten and Live. When are you going to understand it you clown?
Joe
As far as speed goes, there isnt any difference
being hit in an automobile at 50 or 60 or for
that matter 35 MPH, I’ve seen people live after
a collission at 60 MPH and I’ve seen people
killed after a collission at 33 MPH. The speed
restrictions on a RR are not set by local police,
so it means nothing to them (the difference between 35 and 40 for instance)nor would that
by it self cause or prevent a collission, if a
train could stop short of a collission at say 30 MPH but not stop at 40 MPH then speed would be a
factor but we all know this is not the way it is.

Another goofball that gambled with death and lost…What is it with people these days? Are they in such a big hurry that can’t wait or are they plain stupid? Is Hollywood to blame? Remember all the death defying stunts that involves trains?
Sorry I have no pity for those type of people that drives like they needed to be in the metal hospital…They pull out in front of cars, trucks and trains to save very few minutes.
Yes,they sell their life cheaply and yours to by the way.
Went train watching saturday the 24 saw 3 CSX trains the trains were going the speed limit the lights and gates were working and people were still trying to see how far the trains were.
to put it simply this never crossed your mind til i made mention of it in other form. the fact is that we do have video cameras in the cabs of the engines. and the only people who can get this info from the camera is the people you talk to when you sue us. not roadformans or trainmasters . 2nd thing is no officials dont come up on a engine and tell us what to say i never saw a boss tell after the cops took my statment. and as far as the tapes go. ( the event recorder ) the new engines you can download the info from it not take it and change it. its like downloading from a web site everyone can have a copy, the thing is the cops wouldnt know what they was looking at anyways and they have no jurisdiction over track speed. and i am sure you wouldnt know what you was reading if i should you a copy of my tapes either. it seems to me this guy didnt look both ways to see if there is a train comming on another track. so he got killed. another one bites the dust. and life goes on. and if a news team comes out to are accedent sites and thinks they are going to take pictures from our property they are escorted to the gray bar motel for tresspassing. look listen and live.
Why don’t the cops know what they are looking at? The railroads train them don’t they? So my tax-dollars paying the cops to be trained is basically threw out the window. You must not be in the US because no way these robber barons are going to put video cameras to monitor the crimes.
As for the secure event recorder readings no security system has been built that can’t be bypassed. If you think the railroads don’t have the ability to Napster a copy of proper procedure if need be you must not be from this planet.
Speaking of reporters and gray bar motels I think it’s going to working the other way around here before long.
wabash
don’t let the clown rattle your cage.It has nothing else better to do with its time.it’s so simple Loook listen and live.
hope your weekend was good
stay safe
joe
joe thos guy dosent bother me all i am doing is providing the proper / correct information. and to answer his questions it goes like this. first off he keeps talking about napster all napster was is a share file system where you could get what you want like other sites on the net. so with that said he is refering to is going to another unit and getting the tapes off it. well it is very hard to do as the tapes download from the computor that is on board with the engines road number. and the engines road number is also used on the accident report along with all the other engines in the consist. and each engine is downloaded and all tapes better read the same . that is hard to do. its like the recorder in a airplaine. So with this being said why would the railroad involve training cops on how to read the tapes from the engine when they have no ability to even down load this info. and they would have no reason to want it. so your argument is totally with out bias. and your few tax dollars are not paying for much so i wouldnt brag about the 2.43 you pay from your unemployment it wont add up. all cops need to know if the lights was working and if the horn was blowing. and i have been on many of these and if i say over the radio how fast i was going its a legal statement and usable in court. in other words the case is being built from the time i call the dispatcher to the time i leave. but if you must know the real truth none of this would be nessesarry if you would look listen and live
Hey DIP ***
Have you ever heard of personal acountability? For your information a train runs on private property! I am sadened when someone messes with a train and loses, but people lacking common sense have an obligation to remove themselves from the gene pool, please do the same Missouri. I am willing to support my opinion by sighning my name, if you had any dingle berries, you would do the same! You had better pray we never meet!
David
David, you hit the nail on the head. Personal accountability, wow, thats a concept he will never get.
And it saddens me to inform you you share the same state as mike. Maybe we can get his city declared a EPA superfund site, that way theres a excuse to remove the toxins…
Stay Frosty,
Ed
Not everyone can handle the altitude up here. His brain is not getting enough o2. Maybe he is from planet Boulder? (not considered part of Colorado or the Union) I do want to tell Mike to go back on his medication and get professional help, outside of Boulder.
