I had a chance to work for the C&G twice back in the 80’s as a clerk. I saw 601 on a regular occurance, but she was blue and white back then. She would pick up and walk away with a train with hardly straining. One thing she did not like was running on grass. There was an industry in Indianola where we were to spot a loaded boxcar one day and grass had grown over the track given that the track had not be used in some time. The spur was on somewhat an incline to the plant and there was a semi-trailer parked just beyond where the boxcar was to be spotted. As the switching crew was backing down the incline 601 strarted sliding down the rails being greased by the grass. Needless to say, the trailer did not stand a chance after the railcar plowed into it. The boxcar was spotted, but the trailer was totaled! With sand on the rails, 601 came back out of the hole and the crew finished their switch list and made the pickup for the evening train. I do not remember the switch crew working that plant very ofter after that accident, but it made for an interesting day.

Sounds like the industry bought the truck trailer.
